I can’t get enough of nude lipsticks! This is exactly what I was thinking about ordering one more nude lipsticks, hoping to test out the gorgeous quality of the Hourglass products. But unfortunately, some of my hopes were utterly in vain. So, let’s start from the very beginning.
Meet the Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo.
The design of the Hourglass cosmetics really appeals to me - it’s sleek and stylish. The casing is plastic, even though it does look like it’s made of metal. The case is of dark chocolate color. The product is scald- and chip-proof, all the lettering is still here and doesn’t fade even though I constantly carry it with me in my purse.
Size - 2.4g
Made in the USA
It expires within 12 months of opening.
The lipstick has a rather pliant and tacky texture. I wouldn't claim that it’s soft or silky by touch. However, it’s still really comfortable during wear. The pigmentation is average and one can build up the formula to a desired coverage. The finish is satin/glossy.
I can’t make out any distinctive smell or flavor to the product.
The stick is actually a thick crayon and it’s uber comfortable to apply the product. It has a twist-up and down mechanism, which also works good.
As for the stick itself, I can’t say that it’s big, as well as the weight of the product.
And everything might look good and beautiful but only until the moment you start to apply this lipstick.
Right after the application, it looks good and decent, but within 30 minutes the pigment starts to gather in the inner lip. No, that film doesn’t look white, it’s of the same color as the lipstick, yet still, it appears and doesn’t look pleasant at all.
And it isn’t even a tricky task to touch-up, but seriously, Hourglass, what do I pay my money for?
There aren’t many shades in the collection to choose from. For me I chose #6 Mauve Beige
. In the swatches online it looked really amazing. But in life I can’t see any mauve or anything beige here.
This shade looks faint peach over me. It is gentle and beautiful, but I wanted it to be different. I really hoped to get some dusty-beige-pink muted color.
The longevity is standard for such a texture - 2-3 hours. After that the product completely vanishes from my lips. It neither dries out my lips nor gives them any moisture.
By different lights:Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo
is a contradictory product for me. It is beautiful, expensive but not Wow at all. There’s a nasty film on the inner lip appearing over time, the shade looks weird and doesn’t have anything in common with the official description. In general, I keep on using this lipstick. The shade is okay and the wear time is comfortable. But still, it feels as though they cheated on me.
