Welcome to my review!

I’m gonna tell you a story about something green and shiny (and no, it’s not a Christmas Tree)!

On Black Friday 2018 Jeffree Star committed an act of unprecedented generosity and and released his mystery boxes which cost from $30 to $160. As I didn’t really like the prospect of walking around wearing a “You better blend bitch” T-shirt, I opted for the cheapest box for $30 with 6 products (makeup only, no hoodies or t-shirts).

Waiting for my order (and I had to wait almost 3 weeks), I watched unboxing videos, and in all of them I saw the same green (or, actually, minty) highlighter.

And yes, my fears were confirmed, when I took this out of the long-awaited Mystery Box. There it is, the Skin Frost Highlighter in Mint Condition

My first thought was: well, you don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Let it be green. Maybe I’ll use it as eyeshadow. It is really huge, I’d say. I think I will leave it to my grandchildren.

On the next morning, however, I decided to use this as intended, and I fell in love with it!

Description:

Our highlighting powder is extremely pigmented, so get ready to glow like a lighthouse! (Beauty tip: This product can be used on the face, eyes & body! Apply with a brush of your choice, and let yourself shine. A little goes a long way. This product can be used wet or dry, depending on your desired intensity.)

*This product is: Vegan. Cruelty-Free. Talc Free. Paraben & Gluten-Free | 15G/0.53 OZ.NOTE: This product has a unique soft buttery formula, making it delicate so handle with care!

Ingredients:

Magnesium Myristate, Zinc Stearate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Silica, Triethylhexanoin, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glyco. May Contain (+/-) Titanium Dioxide (Cl 77891), Mica (Cl 77019), Iron Oxides (Cl77491, Cl 77492), Manganese Violet (Cl 77742), Ferric Ferrocyanide (Cl 77510), Yellow 5 Lake (Cl 19140), Blue 1 Lake (Cl 42090)

The highlighter is housed in a big pink pan, which, in turn, comes in a pink box.

The giant mirror is definitely a plus.

This highlighter is definitely the biggest solo product in my collection. As I said, I’ll leave it to my children and grandchildren.

It’s almost fragrance-free.

The formula is semi-creamy and airy, even though it’s a dry product. If I press a finger against its surface, it’ll leave a dent.

The pigmentation is above all praise. The product is easy to pick up both with fingers and with different kinds of brushes.

There is a tiny shimmer to it, which creates a crazy play of light on my cheekbones.

It gives a glow visible from outer space:

Now, most importantly, the minty color.

At first, it seems to be pure madness to use it for everyday. But it’s not that bad, as it turned out.

The minty shade doesn’t look greenish even on my pale skin (given that I don’t use many coats and blend it thoroughly).

The highlighter looks great especially in combination with a non-nude makeup:

Since it’s dry, it may emphasize dry spots and skin imperfections. Since I’m not 18 anymore there is really something on my face that I don’t want to show to the world, and I don’t use primers on a daily basis. First, I rub the highlighter into my skin with my finger (it looks more even then), and then I add another coat with a fluffy brush for more glow.

The durability is also phenomenal - it lasts all day without fading and can’t be removed with water. You’ll need a face foam or micellar water here.

Okay, let’s sum things up.

To the cons I can only count the price of this. Yes, we get a nice huge pan for these $29, but personally I would have preferred a smaller amount for a lower price so I would have the possibility to try more colors out.

Plus, the color itself is not for everyone. For me, though, it’s acceptable for everyday.

Other than that, this is a great and multifunctional product and I can totally recommend it for all makeup lovers.

5 stars out of 5!

Thanks for reading my review! See you soon.
