Today I’m so overwhelmed with emotions that I couldn’t wait to share them with you. Finally I have become the lucky owner of the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick which I was longing to buy for more than 2 years. 
Yes, it’s been more than 2 years since I first saw this babe in a beauty blogger’s video and for all those years I was really hooked on the idea to try it myself. I was hooked on the design, color range and of course the provocative Jeffree Star himself who I actually subscribe to on YouTube and Instagram as well.
At first some info for those who have no idea who Jeffree Star is. And then we’ll pass over to the lipstick review.
Jeffree Star is an American singer-songwriter, make-up artist, fashion designer and model from Orange County, California. He started his music career on MySpace with over 25 million plays on his self-released music. After releasing two extended plays, Star released his debut album, Beauty Killer (2009), under Popsicle Records. Star is also known for his fashion line, Beauty Forever, and his transgressive, gender-bending appearance and persona.
I guess that 70% of my personality was hooked on this flamboyant founder and inspiration-guy of the brand. So, I can’t bear it anymore, let’s finally pass over to the lipstick.
★ ●•°•·★ General characteristics ★ ●•°•·★
Outer design. The lippie is housed in a stylish thick acrylic tube with a pink colored top and an abundance of stars on it. At first I had a desire to hold this lippie in my hands and look very close to it, paying attention to every detail, as it won't leave you indifferent.
The tube was packed into a thick cardboard box again of a vibrant pink color:
What does this shade look like? It’s a cool-toned ripe plum color with an abundance of red pigment to it:
In the tube it might look more nude-like, though in the swatch or on the lips it looks more opaque and evening-like.
Consistency: It’s very liquidy hence you can have some troubles with application. The lippie is always ready to budge and feather. But no matter the liquid consistency, the lip color dries down quickly within 3 minutes approximately, turning the coverage on my lips absolutely opaque and very long-wearing.
At first I even had some difficulties with this applicator as it seemed to be too big. The thing is that because of its big size, it takes out too much product and considering the runny consistency I just didn’t know what to do. So before application, I advise you to wipe the applicator over the rims of the tube.

★ ●•°•·★ And now let’s pass over to the practical part of my review and have a look at what our American babe can do ★ ●•°•·★
Before the lipstick application I prefer to exfoliate my lips. Then I apply some lip balm which I usually leave on for 5-7 minutes. After that I come to the lipstick application. As I’ve already said above you might experience some difficulties with application because of the big applicator. But believe me, with time you’ll just stop paying attention to it. Once the applicator touches my lips, they become instantly covered with a plum gorgeous shade which doesn’t need to be layered. The application is soft, streaks- and patches-free.
In this photo you can see that my lips have a slight dewy finish here, but that’s because I took it within 2 minutes after application. Right within 5 minutes the coverage turns completely matte and almost impossible to wash off.
And in total it looks like this:
The shade is bold and vibrant. I guess it’ll look too “heavy” for daytime makeup but for evening makeup looks it’ll be just right - no vulgar or dirty notes to it. There’s a slight drying and tightening effect on my lips because of the matte texture but here a regular chapstick will save the situation. Just dab a little of it into your lips and then the tightening feeling will immediately disappear but the beautiful and matte coverage will still be there. Isn’t that a miracle?
★ ●•°•·★ How does the product perform during the day? ★ ●•°•·★
I was wearing this makeup for about 7 hours, I have to confess I didn’t eat fatty food, as the lippie will not survive it and will fade away after all. If I drink a cup of coffee with sweets, then the product will still be with me and won’t stain anything.
★ ●•°•·★ Some words about washing it off ★ ●•°•·★
Of course you won’t wash it off with regular soap or a face foam or micellar water. Don’t even try to do so, as you’ll just waste your time. They recommended I wash it off with a cleansing oil but I went further and used a usual hand cream. And you’ll never believe it but it worked. The cream removed my lipstick leaving no stains or pigment behind. It wasn’t difficult at all.
I want to show you the process of removing my two the most long-wearing lipsticks. This one is by Jeffree Star and the second is by LASplash.

Perfect, isn’t it? And the most important thing is that I didn’t have to try hard or use any other special makeup removers to wash the products off.
★ ●•°•·★ What do I have to say in the end? ★ ●•°•·★
Girls, I’m head over heels with this product. I’m just raving about it so much that I’m ready to scream about how great it is. I like everything about it - starting from the design and finishing with its performance on my lips. I really appreciate its quality, as I can see hard work done and every thought-out detail behind the product. I can’t help but admire the gorgeous color range of the collection which includes classic as well as flamboyant, unwearable at first sight, colors. Is it worth splurging on? YES! Is it worth waiting for so much? Again YES!
