I became obsessed with matte liquid lipsticks. I have no explanation to it but when I see a matte liquid lipstick I need to buy it right away.
Nowadays the Kylie lip kits are all the rage. That’s why there are so many fakes in the market, so be careful when you order it online. The original Kylie products can be found only on her official website.

The #KylieCosmetics Lip Kit is your secret weapon to create the perfect 'Kylie Lip.' Each Lip Kit comes with a Matte Liquid Lipstick and matching Lip Liner.
Lip Liner
This ultra-long wearing lip liner has a creamy texture that glides across the lips for a very easy and comfortable application. The Lip Liner sharpens easily in most standard sized sharpeners - just make sure your sharpener is not dull!
Matte Liquid Lipstick
The Matte Liquid Lipstick has high intensity pigment for an instant bold matte lip. The extremely long wearing lipstick contains moisturizing ingredients for a comfortable, emollient and silky feel that does not dry your lips out.
The lipstick arrived to me in a carton box. The box was sturdy, made of thick cartoon but I threw it away as to not to clutter my room. On the face side of the box there were lips printed with the lipstick dripping off them and a little lower the name of the brand.
On the back side there’s a lot of information which I wasn’t actually interested in. I don’t understand anything in the ingredients, that’s not my cup of tea. So let’s move on. The brand name and “signature drip” are printed on the body of the tube.
The set features a pencil lip liner and a matte liquid lipstick.
No fuss about the design here. The tube is see-through where you can see the shade of your color with a black cap. The lip pencil is made of black matte plastic with a the same cap colored as the liner itself.
The applicator of the lipstick is usual, nothing supernatural here either. It does its job well and that’s the most important. The tip is tapered so I find it easy to work with. I was upset about the stopper. It is too tight and takes too much of the product off. To cover my lips I have to dip it here and there at least five times.
The pencil lip liner. There are no difficulties for me to work with it. It glides on my lips giving a good coverage. The only thing I can be picky about is that I won’t be able to repurchase it when I use this one up.
The color of the pencil is absolutely the same as the color of the lipstick, even though they don't look alike at first glance. When the lipstick dries out on the lips, it becomes the same color as the lip liner.
As for the characteristics of the lipstick, they are very good too. Thanks to the liquid consistency, it is easy to apply over my lips. Technically it resembles the Nouba liquid lipsticks, I think.
The product dries out very quickly. Within a minute or so. The scent is unobtrusive and cosmetical. That’s a definite advantage, as the lippies by Anastasia Beverly Hills are fragrant of vanilla or chocolate which is enough to give me a migraine.
The application is easy-breezy. If you are a little bit ham handed and you’ve never managed to apply a liquid lipstick evenly, then you definitely need to buy this kit. When I apply it on my lips, it feels as though the product applies itself making my lips beautiful and flawless.
At first I always draw a “bow” with a lip pencil.
Then I contour my lips blending out the edges to the inside of the mouth.
I always feel enough with a one layer coverage. I’m not among those who love thick and cakey coverage. The formula is buildable, so you can get any coverage you’d like. In the pictures below you might think that the lipstick leaves streaks but I took them on a macro, so in real life my lips don’t look like that. During the first couple of minutes after application the lipstick has a tad dewy finish and the brightest pigmentation.
But a few minutes later it dries out completely and becomes totally matte. And the color becomes a tad muted.
The color is not for everybody - the bright and intense scarlet, the color of blood. Mary Jo K.
As for me, I take it as a classic red color for evening make-up. It’ll look great both on blonde and dark headed girls.
I have to admit that sometimes I use it even for my day wear make-up look.
The longevity is stunning. It’s impossible to smudge the lippie with finger or water. It doesn’t leave stains on clothes or cups. A dream, not just lipstick.
The problem arises when it comes to removing. I tried to remove it with my facial cleanser but it was just smudged and that’s all. The optimal option is to use a make up remover or almond oil. But get ready that the process won’t go fast. I usually apply some almond oil on my lips, blot them with a tissue and then rub them with finger. It’s a rough way to remove the product from the lips so if you know any better, please let me know in the comments.
The product is definitely drying for my lips, so I do take care of them before and after application.
I wouldn’t recommend this lip kit only for aged lips but as for others - certainly YES! This is a bomb lipstick! The color is gorgeous, it’s matte and long-lasting! The price can be a drawback, but for the quality I’m ready to pay.
And the total look:
