For ages I was longing to buy a nude lipstick for myself. But I had no idea which shade would suit me most of all. At that time I found out that L’Oreal released their lip palettes, one of them was in nude shades, so that was a sign to buy it.
I bought the nude palette discounted for $14.
I read the reviews where they all said that the packaging was beautiful and that’s true. For the money the design looks very decent. But only after I started to use it daily, I understood that the packaging was absolutely impractical. It collects fingerprints and I have to wipe it each time after use. The gloss disappears so you can see scratches and chips.
The weight of each color is 1g which is equal to the size of a usual lipstick.
Inside the palette is very beautiful. There’s a big mirror which will be a find during travel. The brush is also very good and applied the products well. However I used a brush from another set.
Shade 1 - tender color that somehow looks pink on my lips, even though it looks beige in the palette. It makes my lips pale especially if layered.
Shade 2 - It’s very summery pinky color.
Shade 3 - salmon color which I like most of all! It refreshes my look best of all.
Shade 4 - lilac pinky color. One of the most intense in the palette.
Shade 5 - brown-ish color. Very classical one.
Shade 6 - It resembles the previous one but a little bit darker with red pigment to it.
The lippies are moisturizing however they disappear relatively quickly. But then they are easy to remove. I apply them without fuss and layer if needed. They don’t crease while wear and I almost don’t feel them present on my lips. The smell is a tad sugary but only in the palette.
Summary:
Pros
+ convenient packaging
+ good brush
+ big mirror
+ a lot of colors that can be mixed
+ easy to use
Cons: (all of them are minor ones)
- the packaging loses its appearance rather quickly
- pricey if not discounted
- the brush can take too much of the product (it’s densely packed and a lot of product stays between the bristles)
