I’d like to share my thoughts on the Hyper Real Glow Palette in the shade Flash + Awe from the professional makeup brand MAC.
The palette is made of black matte cardboard, which wiped off and has become glossy over time. It opens up 150 degrees approximately. Inside you’ll find a mirror and a plastic liner with all the shade names on it. As for the texture, well, it’s rather dusty and chunky, that’s why I prefer to keep than liner on. The palette is easy to close because it has a magnet.

Let’s have a look at the swatches?
Shades from left to right:
Flash+Awe, Rosy Glow, Light of the Party.
The palette is said to have a pink undertone but over my fair skin, the shades appear like this:
Flash+Awe- this is the fairest one with a pearlescent undertone.
Rosy Glow- this one is rather light but it has more pink tones to it.
Light of the Party- the darkest shade from the palette, which is golden with a warm undertone. I hardly ever use it.
My skin with no highlighter on:
With the Light of the Party:
Full-on makeup:
Flash+Awe is a perfect shade for highlighting.
I use
Rosy Glow most of all and it seems to be the most universal for me.
The shade Light of the Party will be a great option for those with tanned skin or when you want your makeup to look warmer.
In my book, the shades look rather similar when I blend them out. They are dusty when I touch them with my brush.
You can wear them as you wish (damp or dry), pack for a super glow finish. I bought this palette before I purchased the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder Poudre Touché Eclat and that one is less silky than MAC texture-wise, yet still very pleasant to use.
As for the staying power, it’s great. I can still see the products on my face in the evening.
I can advise this palette for all the highlighter worshipers who don’t welcome chunky shimmer. It’s so easy to use and the finish is fantastic.
