I have a weakness for highlighters. They are essential for my daily makeup. My collection is growing and growing and I love it!
Today I want to tell you about the MAC Hyper Real Glow palette which was very quick to steal my heart forever.
The palette is made of a thick matte black cardboard, which is so easy to stain and wash off, though. The top lid opens and closes with magnets and it opens up 360 degrees. Inside they placed a small mirror.
The brand and the name of the palette are given with silver letters, which eventually fade away over time.
Size-wise, the palette is the same as the Lime Crime Hi-Lite Opals palette. Well, maybe this one is a little bit thicker because of the featured mirror.
Each refill offers 4.5g of the powders.

Inside the palette has 3 shades of powder highlighters. They are all soft in texture but not chunky. They are pretty tightly pressed and never dust when I pick them up with a brush.
The highlighters are fantastic formula-wise. They don’t define my skin texture but on the contrary, it feels like they polish it, creating a beautiful metal glowing finish.
Yet, the pigmentation isn’t the highest, it’s average, I’d say it’s normal for such formula. It’s very simple to work with them and I can be sure that I never overdo them. If you long for the “visible-from-the orbit-finish," then you can pack the coverage easily.
The collection MAC Hyper Real Glow offers several shades of the palette to choose from. Mine is called Get Lit.
It has the most wearable fair highlighter shades:
Like a Dream - cool-toned silver shade with a gentle blue casting;
Get Lit - pearlescent pink shade of a neutral undertone (this is my favorite shade from the palette);
Gleam Sheen - cool-toned fair golden color.
Even though the shades here have a color-coded undertone, they are still really wearable thanks to the clear base shade. Unlike the mentioned
Lime Crime Hi-Lite Opals palette which is pretty fair and thick-colored based.
I want to compare them with the Lime Crime Hi-Lite Opals and theBalm The Manizer Sisters.
The pink highlighters from МАС and LC appear the same but they have different base colors so they look different on the skin. As for the golden shade, they are all different color- and finish-wise. But still, they are all dope and my favorite ones.
The staying power of these highlighters is fantastic and they stay put till the moment I take them off. They can fade a little towards the evening.
In the picture, the powders are applied over my brow bone, inner corners of my eyes and above my cheekbones.
There’s a mixture of the shades Like a Dream and Get Lit over my brow bone and cheekbone over the Armani eye tint in the color #12.
I love this MAC Hyper Real Glow palette very much! It’s easy to use, it’s versatile and it offers such a beautiful finish on my skin. I use it with pleasure all the time! My collection has more than 50 highlighters and I can say that here they have one of the best formulas that I’ve ever tried.
