Concealer is a staple product of many makeup pouches. But I used to neglect it and started using it relatively recently. You see, I found a steady job and now I’m always tired and lack sleep. From that moment, a concealer has become a must-have for me.
By the way, even and beautiful coverage and also an adequate staying power are also very essential for me.
I was able to gain all that and maybe even more from the new MAC Studio Fix 24-Hour Smooth Wear Concealer.
The design is minimal, which is a popping feature of the MAC brand. I appreciate such a design pattern. Nothing extra here. The plastic is sturdy and it doesn’t scratch over time. The lettering is also in place.

The texture is creamy, not the most lightweight in the world but still, it isn’t a thick plaster anyway. The application is easy-breezy with fingertips or with a brush. As for the sponge, I found the application more difficult then. The coverage is medium/thick. The product is build-able, however, I want to draw your attention that the second layer must be thinner, otherwise, you risk having a cakey finish.
The concealer is self-setting and I like how quickly it dries out on my skin. That’s why you have to be rather quick with its blending out. The finish is semi-matte and always looks natural and lively.
It’s so important that the product doesn’t dry out my gentle under eye skin!
I’ve been using it for 2 weeks already every day and the results seem awesome.
The staying power is one more pro of the
MAC Studio Fix 24-Hour Smooth Wear Concealer. It stays on till the moment I wash it off.
I work 8 hours a day standing under those lousy beauty shop lights. It always makes my skin shine with oil within 2 hours. And I always have to touch-up my foundation, which doesn’t affect the concealer at all. There wasn’t a day when it let me down.
The color selection is enormous from MAC. One will definitely find a perfect match there. A long time ago I have found out that the shade NW20 is ideal for me during summer and winter.
So now, let’s have a look at the concealer in action. I can’t say that my under eye dark circles are crucial but my main problem is reddening due to my sensitive eyes and also I have some dark pigment in the inner corners of my eyes.
I apply the concealer using its doe-foot applicator and then blend it out with a synthetic buffing brush. Within a few minutes after the application, the product may crease a little, however, it doesn’t crease later in the day. I don’t set it with a powder.
The coverage doesn’t seem to be the best, but I like the result I get for everyday wear. The most important thing is that I look wide awake and my skin isn’t dried out. And of course, the staying power is also a plus.
MAC Studio Fix 24-Hour Smooth Wear Concealer is a good working horse for everyday wear. It’s easy to use and it covers up everything that has to be covered.
I don’t even need anything else from my concealer.
