Greeting to all those reading my post!
MAC Studio Waterweight Concealer. I’m always on the hunt for my perfect concealer which will look like my second skin, yet be pigmented enough to correct my skin blemishes. ☺️
MАС STUDIO WATERWEIGHT CONCEALER
Price: $24. The price is high, as were my expectations.
Packaging: The tube is made of thick glass with a dropper dispenser. The design of all the products from the brand appeals to me. 😍
The glass dropper is rather convenient. I can portion the product myself, so it goes a long way.
Aroma: There’s almost no fragrance to the formula.
MАС STUDIO WATERWEIGHT CONCEALER
The name of the concealer speaks to itself: Waterweight. Here are their promises:
Long-wearing, eight hours
Provides instant hydration
Reduces appearance of undereye circles, dark spots and discolouration
Reduces appearance of pores and fine lines
Provides stay-true colour
Non-caking and streak-resistant
Oil-free
For all skin types, especially normal to dry skin
Dermatologist tested
Non-acnegenic
Shades: There are a lot of them in the line, I appreciate MAC for their wide color selection. Everyone will find a match here.
My shade is NW15, when I’m not tanned and have my natural skin color.
I advise you use a brush for its blending. A synthetic brush will do the job well. The product is water-based, so it’s useless to expect moisture from it!
They promise us a non-pore clogging formula which will moisturize skin throughout the wear, which hasn’t happened with my skin, alas. Within an hour, my pores were already clogged, as though I applied a product from a one-dollar store. ;(
As for moisture, there isn’t any. The product is watery and runny. I advise you to mix it with a small portion of your moisturizer and only after that apply on your face. This way it’ll apply better and won’t look streaky or patchy.
My skin is normal, with a tad oily T-zone. There aren’t many blemishes, though still, there are some. The product can be used for the under eye area but then, it’ll definitely crease there. It can also be applied all over the face with the lightest veil coverage, which I usually opt for. 😊I don’t appreciate the mask-esque effect, which looks so heavy.
before
This is how my non-made up skin looks like. There are black under eye circles and reddening. The product will do the job relatively well here but if your skin has acne scars or more blemishes, then toss it. 😢
The formula accentuates flaking skin. Regardless of the season, I have to use use a primer, which moisturizes and smoothes my skin out.
after
And here’s my skin after application of the product. The reddening and the dark circles are concealed. Not so good, because it creases in the crevices and I have to touch-up all the time.
And yeah, be careful with the tube. It’ll never live through a fall on the tile flooring. Besides, make sure to close the tube tightly because the formula is runny and it just flew out into my purse. 😫
Overall: the product isn’t bad but it doesn’t live up to the things it promises. I won’t repurchase, I’m sure. I won’t recommend it, even though it may suit some of you.
Thanks for reading my post!
