I couldn’t pass by the newly released Artist collection from Make Up For Ever. And today I want you to focus on the Multi-Use Artist Color Pencil that can be used for lips, eyes and full-face makeup in general. (But why? This is another good question). I got my hands onto 2 shades from the line out of more than 30, the black and the red ones. I’ll start with the shade #714 FULL RED.
It looks like an artist pencil.
In the swatch, you can witness how chunky it is if I pack it. And yeah, the swatch looks brighter and more vibrant this way.
Well, honestly, guys, it wasn’t pleasant to use this pencil, even though I love putting on makeup. It was tough to line my eyes brightly because I had to press the pencil a lot. You see, it isn’t soft in consistency so the process wasn’t smooth and gliding. But I have to say that my eye makeup stayed on good till the evening, even though I hadn’t used an eye primer beforehand.
It wasn’t pleasant to make up my lips either. I somehow remembered the moment when my bestie and I were about 7 years old when we tried to make up our faces with usual pencils.
The results were more or less the same as here. I can’t even say this pencil looks bearable. The blending makes the product too dry and within an hour I struggle a desire to coat my lips with a moisturizing lippie all over.
The pencil is easy to wash off with warm water, that’s great.
In fact, I don’t get the craze about this collection. They seem to be just regular pencils.
If you still want to try some pencils from the collection, then I can advise you to opt for more complicated and unusual colors - like #208 which is fair turquoise or #208, bright lilac and so on.
