Hello everybody!
I’m hooked on YouTube and I especially like make-up reviews done by different beauty bloggers. I noted that the foundation by Make Up For Ever has become extremely popular among them. I even watched a video where Kylie Jenner (Kim Kardashian’s sister) applied this product while doing her make-up. So, I was eager so much to try this product out, even though a few years ago I tried Make Up For Ever face primer in the Ultra Hd collection and was frustrated by it.
To cut a long story short, I want to tell you about my impressions of Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation.

Packaging: the bottle with the foundation was packed in a black cardboard box. Since the Make Up For Ever is a professional brand, the packaging looks neat and simple, but at the same time looks interesting, as any other professional cosmetics should look.
My skin has a yellow undertone and the sales girl helped me to choose the right shade. She advised to opt for the #120 with warm undertones.
On the box there are ingredients listed:
The bottle is pretty heavy, even though it’s made of thick plastic which feels like glass. But I presume that half of the bottle’s weight is gained because of the metallic ring, which is placed under the cap.
The foundation comes out of a convenient pump and I can say that a little goes a really long way. One pump is enough for me to apply on my entire face.
Consistency: This foundation is rather liquid and easy to blend out.
Even though its texture seems and feels lightweight, the product provides me with a good thick coverage and conceals all my imperfections. It has a satin finish. (The coverage is matte, but still there’s some light inner healthy glow visible)
Smell: the product almost doesn’t have any smell, which is a great advantage, as sometimes I face the problem of wonderful product with obnoxious smell that automatically makes it impossible to wear and feel comfortable with it on.
My experience of use:
I’m into sponges so I apply all my foundation products with the damp Beautyblender.
This product suits my oily skin perfectly well. It gives a good mattifying effect and I don’t even need to apply my powder. It’s extremely lasting. It holds up the entire day, doesn’t move, never clogs pores or smudges.
This is a photo of my “naked” face. I only shaped my brows and applied some skin care cream.
I have a few small pimples, reddening, enlarged pores and acne scars.
And here’s a photo of my skin with this product applied. (I bought it last September, when I was still tanned, so now this foundation may look a tad dark on me)
The foundation evens my skin tone, conceals imperfections and I don’t feel it on my face at all. Make Up For Ever Ultra HD was created for the professional photo and video shoots. I can say that my camera really can’t see this foundation on me, as well as a human’s eye, I presume. This product looks really natural and doesn’t create the mask wearing effect.
Moreover, thanks to its thick coverage and yet seamless finish, this product is among faves by people with severe acne scars.
I guess that this foundation can be too heavy during summer, and it’ll be better to use BB creams.
Overall:
- the product holds up the entire day
- it stays matte on my face
- it has good coverage
- no mask wearing effect
- a little goes a long way
- seamless finish
It’s better to say here that this product is created for special occasions, as it makes the skin look better, holds up long and is seamless in photos and videos.
Despite this product being high-priced, I can assure you that I'll definitely buy Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation again.
The photo below is of my total make-up with highlighter, bronzer, mineral powder and some concealer on the dark under-eye circles.
