I tried to buy this palette for 4 times and finally managed to do it. It’s an absolute dupe for the eyeshadow palette that costs 5 times more!
Are you intrigued? Then let’s have a closer look at it then.
Meet the Makeup Revolution I ♥ Makeup Chocolate and Peaches Eyeshadow Palette.
The palette was first retailed at the end of 2016 but was quickly sold out. I just didn’t have time to buy it. For a long time it was on their website exposed and retailed for a few hours and then again disappeared. At that time there were already a lot of comparison reviews with the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette on the internet and the beauty bloggers that used it claim that the quality of the Chocolate and Peaches palette was the same as of the Sweet Peach and of course the shades looked almost the same in both palette though the dupe cost 5 times less. I wanted to buy it so much but at that time I just didn’t have enough spare money for it.
Until one day when I eventually managed to buy it!
The price then was $11 on the official site
PACKAGING
It’s a peachy plastic chocolate bar in a cardboard box. The quality of the plastic material is just fab. I have another chocolate bar palette from this brand that I’ve been using for two years already and it still looks like new. All the information about the product like expiration dates, ingredients etc. is given on the cardboard box on the back. You can also find it on the official site.
INGREDIENTS
Mica, Talc, Magnesium Stearate, Paraffinum Liquidum, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Polybutene, Dimethicone, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Parfum May Contain (+/-) TITANIUM DIOXIDE, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 15850, CI 16035, CI 77742
Inside they put a convenient mirror which I don’t use actually but it’s notable that it doesn’t distort the image.
SMELLThis is the attention-worthy moment. The product does have a smell. The smell isn’t strong but it’s there. It’s so confectionery and caramel-like. I read that some girls were afraid to buy this palette as they were scared of getting allergic to this smell but for me it works fine, even though I have very sensitive eyes.
All the shades have their names which are given on the plastic sheet.
Let’s pass over to the most interesting - the shades:
All the colors are swatched over a primer.
My bestie has the original Too Faced Sweet Peach palette so after the purchase I quickly headed to visit her with my new palette to make the comparison. The Too Faced shadows are a little bit different texture-wise. You see, the mattes are dustier while shimmers are better to apply to the skin. But in all the other aspects and use the difference is minimal.
I have another palette by Too Faced which was crap in quality so now I guess you understand why I didn’t buy the original Sweet Peach but hunted for the Makeup Revolution I ♥ Makeup Chocolate and Peaches palette. And this isn’t even the matter of the price!
And here are some comparison pictures of the two palettes. Here I swatched the shades over my clean skin with 2 layers.
The difference is minimal, isn’t it? Is it worth splurging on then?
Delicious - matte creamy shade that looks a little bit peachy-like.
Fruit - faint shimmer gold; It looks darker in the palette than on the skin.
Soft - sparkling girlish pink shade. It shines with a golden cast. I adore such shades!
Choc - this is a sparkling metallic olive green shade
Delight - deep dark-green shade that looks almost black with a barely notable shimmer to it
Sweet - faint yellow golden shade with a pearl casting
Candy - glitter bronze
Rich - shiny brown shade
Peach - peachy pink hue
Taste - dark brown color with a pink casting
Nice - dark purple
Lush - matte pastel pink
Fine - matte light brown shade
Luscious - a little bit darker matte brown shade with warm undertones
Keen - matte classic brown color of cool undertones
Satisfy - matte cream color
I have nothing bad to say in terms of pigmentation of the shades, except maybe for two big matte refills. They aren’t pigmented enough to hide the small veins on my eyelids or to highlight my brow bone. But these shades can be used for blending, which also very useful.
All in all I’m delighted with my purchase and I’ll definitely recommend this palette for purchasing to you!
