Pros: fragrance free, light reflecting, lightweight texture, sets makeup, versatile shade

Hello there!

After Kim Kardashian promoted the Ben Nye Banana Powder, everybody became crazy and wanted to try out the baking technique on their faces. Later, a lot of brands appeared releasing loose powders in the banana shade. What’s so special about it? I guess that many of you have already known what contouring is and what it’s aimed for. If you still don’t have a baking powder then I advise you to pay your attention to the MakeUp Revolution "Luxury Powder". This powder is the best-selling product by the brand. Why do I recommend it? Let us get all this straightened out.

The product is placed in a transparent plastic jar with a screw top cap. The top cap was sealed to ensure safe opening. On the jar there’s all the needed information given.

Ingredients:

The powder comes out through a sifter which was also sealed with a protecting plastic tape.

If you got used to putting some powder in the top cap and then taking it with a brush, here it won’t work, as the top cap is too small and the process will be extremely inconvenient. That’s pretty logical, you know, as the size of the jar isn’t aimed at standard use.

Yet it’ll be possible if you take a smaller brush or dip your sponge into the top cap.

The powder is fine in texture. It’s of a good grain and very silky to the touch.

I can’t say that it’s chalky as the product has a satin finish with the light reflecting microparticles. You won’t get a cakey look with it, as it doesn’t accentuate a skin’s relief or pores. But remember that you always need to apply the powder with the thinnest layer!

I find the product to be rather versatile. And here are a few uses of it for me:

1. How to use?

You can use it as a standard powder product to apply all over your face. Since the product has yellow undertones, it easily neutralizes red pigment on the skin (blemishes, pimples, reddening)

2. To set concealer and correcting products. This powder is perfect for setting liquid and oily products.

3. The main purpose of this product is baking. So use it to bake your concealer and apply a lot of the product where needed. There are 42g of the product, so don’t worry and use as much as needed.

Baking makes your makeup stay put longer and better. Of course that isn’t an everyday technique, just for special occasions or going out. If you know that you must look your best and your foundation should stay on like glue until the moment you decide to wash it off, then use this powder and bake.

All in all the result won’t look cakey or bad. Your skin will still have natural-looking finish.

What’s more you can use this powder for creative makeup and not only makeup but the total look in general. Here I used it not only to set my makeup but also to create a san-looking effect.

I’m totally in love with this powder. It has a pleasant texture and is very versatile. And the big size for good money makes it my fave!

Highly recommended!
