What can one do, if one’s skin is way too pale even by the end of the summer? I think there are two options: one can either ignore this or create a blush and shine with makeup! Highlighters are especially timely in summer and it would be a shame to forgo an opportunity to use one.

I prefer powdery formulas because they are much easier to work with on problematic skin. Also, it’s easier to achieve a desired coverage by applying a few layers. Usually, I try to avoid big shimmer particles. However, when I saw this gorgeous highlighter in a video review, I immediately fell for it!

Price: $9

Size: 14 grams of sun kisses. I think my daughter will inherit this pan.

Description:

A highly-pigmented highlighting powder available in 3 shades. Use all over your face or body for the perfect glow and highlight. Simply tap your brush into the powder and apply - use a wet brush for a higher intensity.•Vegan•Cruelty Free•Gluten Free

Design:

The packaging is made of plastic with a transparent lid, through which you can spot the color and its iridescence.

I only look at the ingredients of my makeup if it harmed my skin, but it’s quite rare.

Ingredients:

Dimethicone, CrosspolymerDimethicone, OzokeriteIsononyl, Isononanoate Ethylhexyl palmitate, Caprylyl, MethiconeMica, Propylparaben, BHT(+/-),Titanium dioxide(CI 77891), RED IRON OXIDE(CI 77491).

The lid opens 180 degrees which allows me to pick up the highlighter with my brush without any fuss. It doesn’t break my nails and closes with a click.

There is a solar disc with 3D sun rays. The color of the highlighter appeared sandy beige at first and even too dark...but then I swatched it with my finger and that’s it:

I think the color Peach Kiss is the very best of the whole 4 shades in the color range. It’s such a discreet peach with golden shimmers, and it would suit both pale and tanned girls of warm color type! It goes with my fair complexion with freckles.

The swatch on my hand appears gold-beige with a slight pink note to it, but the highlighter opens up on my face as a duochrome from pink beach to sparkly gold. And that’s what makes this highlighter so versatile because it defines my cheekbones and works as a blush at the same time! There is shimmer, the particles are tiny yet visible. It requires a careful application otherwise the shimmer may be over the whole face. When applied in a dense layer, the highlighter seems satin but once blended, it shows all the shimmer.

Formula:

The highlighter is densely pressed, but the formula is soft and a bit crumbly. It’s silky to the touch and pleasant to apply onto the skin. The pigmentation is high so you don’t have to apply one coat after another to get a cosmic glow. It’s easy to pick up and seems dark and pink on the brush, but transforms once it touches my skin.

Application and results:

I apply this highlighter onto my cheekbones as the last stage of the makeup process, over a foundation or powder. Taking its pink undertone into consideration, I blend it out under the cheekbones and therefore it works as a blush. The amount is moderate for everyday, and the coat is thin, but for a party makeup I can do a hardcore version Smile In this photo, I applied a few coats to make the highlighter visible for the camera. Peach Kiss is applied to the bridge of my nose, to the cupid’s bow, under eyebrows and onto the cheekbones Smile

I love dry formulas because they are so easy to layer and experiment with, and you won’t end up looking patchy, unlike in the case with creamy formulas. Plus, my skin is problematic and has to be evened out and mattified. The highlighter applies evenly and leaves no spots or gaps. Also, it doesn’t clog my pores or emphasize dry spots. The longevity is also nice and the glow lasts throughout the whole day. When it’s hot, face shine appears quickly, but this can be fixed with blotting sheets. No smudging or pore clogging.

The highlighter is easy to remove, it comes off with the rest of the makeup and leaves no shimmer on my face.

The bottom line:

My hand reaches for the Makeup Revolution Sun Kiss highlighter in Peach Kiss. It’s a very beautiful duochrome of gorgeous quality and nice lasting power, which makes it my favorite summer makeup product.

My rating: 10 out of 5. Totally recommended!
