Today I’ll share my opinion with you about Maybelline Master Sculpt
Maybelline New York's first 2-in-1 contouring palette means contouring your face has never been easier. Coming in two expertly coordinated shades - just use the contour side to sculpt below the cheeks, corners of the forehead and jawline, and use the highlighter side to enhance cheekbones, bridge of the nose, lips and chin.
This compact was tempting me. It’s so beautiful and streamlined. The black glossy design along with the heavy compact with mirror and brush provided looked very nice. I eventually bought this product but the very first time I opened it, I understood that it’s completely impossible to use.
The mirror is placed in the second section, as the first one is with powders. The section with powder is rather heavy, that’s why the section with mirror isn’t fixated and is always about to fall down. The brush is made of very rough synthetic bristles which always shed and scratch the powder making it dusty.
The color of the contour powder isn’t universal. On someone it’ll look red, but not on me, luckily. The shade is gray-brown with yellow warm undertones. The finish isn’t dead matte, but not shimmering at the same time, it’s more like satin. This color is something between bronzer and sculpting powder, as this bronzer lacks shimmer and warmth, and for sculpting powder it isn’t cool enough.
The pigmentation isn’t good. On tanned skin it’s almost invisible, and on fair skin it looks orange. To make it look natural and harmonious I have to try my best and layer this product.
Highlighter is of white-creamy color with huge particles of shimmer. It looks beautiful in summer when my skin is tanned. And in winter, I hardly ever use it.
Both products dust a lot during application. The grain is good, however the powders aren’t pressed tightly. And there’s no silkiness to them.
The staying power is average. On my oily skin they start fading in 4-5 hours.
My color is Light/Medium
Who can I recommend this product to?
Only to the beginners in the world of cosmetics. For those who want to try and find out what contouring actually is.
But in general, I don’t recommend buying this product.
