Pros: compact size, natural look, soft and creamy texture
Cons: doesn’t stay long, small size, too thick formula

Hello! Contouring has really become a part of my life. Some people think that contouring is only for some evening makeup looks, while I use it even for my daily makeup, as it’s so nice to make my features pops on a daily basis. And today I’m going to review FaceStudio Master Contour & Highlight V-Shape Duo Stick from Maybelline.

I bought it absolutely by chance when I quickly grabbed it while wandering about a store.

Price: about $11, though it was discounted at that moment and I was lucky enough to buy it for $7.99 Smile

The fragrance of the product is a tad weird to me. I can’t even find the right words to describe it. It isn’t off putting, though I can’t say it’s pleasant either.

Shade: Mine is 01 Light.

Size: well, the stick is rather small, especially for the price. Have a look yourself.

  • Even though I have the product in Light shade, it isn’t perfect for highlighting. But in general I like it. No shimmer to it.

  • Medium shade: it doesn’t look red. It’s warm toned and really creates beautiful and right shadow shades. You’ll never stain your face with it or end up looking muddy.

Even though I do my contouring everyday, it still was difficult for me to use this stick. Currently I can’t contour my face with creamy products, though I hope one day I’ll master this skill.

Result:

I didn’t want to make the colors look so obvious, as when I look closer at my cheeks, I can see the product there.

The product blends out easy-breezy. A soft sponge will do the job nicely. My face doesn’t look muddy after that.

And the staying power is a minus, as the product fades too quickly.

Powder contouring products stay on better than this Maybelline stick.

The bottom line:

Pros:

  • pleasant to use

  • good colors

  • easy to blend

  • doesn’t look red

  • if I master the skill for cream-texture contour products, then it’ll look perfect on me. Smile

Cons:

  • the price tag

  • for me it takes longer to apply than powder contouring

  • shitty staying power

  • small size

  • won’t do well on oily skin

I will recommend this stick for purchasing, as all in all the product is good and I’ll master my skill for better application to get the best results!

Thanks for your attention to my review!

See you! 😉
