Pros: doesn’t show crevices, highlighting, natural finish, package, small though convenient tube

Hello there! Smile

I guess that if you are in the beauty world then you probably have heard of this concealer from beauty bloggers or makeup artists. I also had a huge desire to give it a go myself. Smile

Product says:

Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind® Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment is a concealer for erasing dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. The active formula with Haloxyl reduces the look of puffiness and shadows while fading the appearance of under-eye circles. The Micro-Corrector Applicator micro-fills and smooths skin for brighter looking eyes.

Formula with Haloxyl instantly covers and diminishes the look of puffiness. Eye area looks radiant and refreshed. For extreme dark circles, apply the Neutralizer shade underneath your concealer shade. Use the Brightener shade to add a luminous touch to inner corner of eyes, cheek and brow bones and bridge of nose

Outer appearance

The tube is small and compact with a plastic safety cap. You can see the shade of the concealer through the tube.

The applicator is here in the photo. It’s a little bit clinging to my skin and that’s why it can drag it sometimes. To tell you the truth, I don’t find this applicator convenient as I wish it was smaller.

The manufacturer claims that the applicator is protected with an anti-microbial system but honestly there’s no way for us to check it. Maybe the only way that we have left is to watch the skin’s condition hoping that it won't change for the worse.

You need to twist the upper cap of the product to make it come out. After that you’ll see some product sitting on the applicator.

Consistency and shade

I have my concealer in the shade Light. Here’s a comparison photo with some more concealers that I own. Here you can see that the Maybelline concealer has true yellow undertone which is so great if you want to conceal dark circles. But at the same time it won’t perform well to conceal skin blemishes.

The product’s consistency is very gentle and lightweight. At the same time it offers good coverage on the skin.

Application

I hid the “Before” pictures in a quote, just in case, you know. Smile

In general my skin can be described as the following- I have well visible dark under eye circles, skin reddening and acne scars.

I decided to experiment a little and blend out the concealer with a sponge (not with the product’s applicator) on one part of my face and blend it out with my fingers on the other.

And that was the first and the last time I used a makeup sponge with the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Concealer. Maybe the camera doesn’t show you all the terrible results that I saw, but take my word, it looked awful. With the sponge blending out, the concealer applied patchy and accentuated all the flaky bits on my face:

On the part where I used the fingertip blending the product looks much better:

Here are some more photos of the way the concealer looks over my skin. Here I used only the concealer. I didn’t set it with powder or used any foundation products.

I guess I can’t recommend you use this concealer if you’re under 25 since there are anti-oxidants in the ingredients which can result in worse skin protection later.

Wear time

Since I have an oily T-zone, it’s better to set a concealer with powder for me, otherwise my face will quickly start shining with oil. Smile

But this very concealer doesn’t crease or travel down on my face even if I don’t set it. In general I’m very delighted with its performance on my skin. Smile

Makeup and finish

I appreciate that the concealer is almost undetectable on my skin. It’s nice to use for daytime makeup and what’s more, I like that I can use it alone if I blend it out thoroughly.

Overall

I really liked this product and I think that it deserves all the praise it’s got from beauty bloggers. Smile :)

The Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Concealer has soft and lightweight texture but still it offers good coverage and pigmentation which is accompanied with a great wear time.

5 stars out of 5 from me!

I hope that you’ve found my review informative! Smile
