About a year ago I thought that I desperately needed a huge amount of matte brown shades. I had a real bee in the bonnet about it, so I started my search. When I was surfing YouTube, I came across some reviews about this amazing Morphe Brushes brand, their palettes and brushes. At that moment the 35N eyeshadow palette was a bestseller and I desperately wanted to get my hands on one, too.
Plus, it retailed for a bargain price and there were so many browns just like I wanted…
So I ordered this palette… I’ve been waiting for about 2 months when it finally arrived to me. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting that it would ever happen.
The palette arrived a little bit damaged after 2 months of travelling. As you can see in the pictures, 2 and a half shades are ruined.
At first glance there is an abundance of various shades. However, the light colors turned out to be not so light for me. Well, I probably have too fair of skin for this palette
So, I had a year to play around with this product and now I can state the following:
The palette has many similar hues that you won’t distinguish when putting your makeup on. Other than that, the eyeshadows will last forever, unless you are a makeup artist
Talc, Mica,Mineral Oil, Kaolin, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Isopropyl, Lanolin, Methhylparaben, Propylparaben. May Contain: Mica and Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Magnese Violet, Ultramarine Blue, Chrome Oxide Green, Hydrated Chrome Oxide Green, FD&C Red No.40 A1 Lake, FD&C Yellow No.5 a1 Lake, FD&C Blue No.1 A1 Lake.
I’ve taken this list of ingredients from the official website. I threw away the packaging with these ingredients right away.
The ingredients are not much different from the fake palettes that you can buy from different online shops. I would never dare to purchase this palette from some cheap online shops, however. I read some reviews about such palettes and they said that the eyeshadows were poorly pigmented.
My palette is actually highly pigmented except for a few shades.
Now the swatches made with my fingers from right to left from top downward:
The first two rows. The broken shades are absent in this swatch, which is understandable
My face is the same fair skin as my hand, so the light shades are not really light for me. However, I wish there were some more suitable for my skin tone.
Moreover, it’s noticeable that some shades are very much alike. I applied these colors 2-3 times each.
The third and fourth rows
The third row seemed quite interesting to me. It kind of diluted the brown shades in this palette.
I loved the pink shades and they are my faves at the moment, although I was afraid of them earlier.
It’s noteworthy that the violet shade can leave something of a tint on my eyelids! So this is something to consider and can be quite important to someone.
The gray color is poorly pigmented. I’ve applied it 4 or even 5 times for the color to pop.
The last row
The last but one black color is also poorly pigmented. However, it feels like it has to be so.
The eyeshadows are a little bit dusty. You should tap the brush and remove the residue before applying the shade to your skin, otherwise there will be stains.
I’ve been applying these shades both with an eyeshadow primer and without it. It didn’t crease even on my oily eyelids. However, I wasn’t wearing the eyeshadows long.
More than that, the product hasn’t caused any irritation. I’m glad that I bought this palette. However, sometimes I wish I purchased the other option with shimmer hues. They say it’s quite decent.
If you are looking for a big amount of matte shades for an affordable price, I recommend you try this option.
