I’m trying to keep you updated with my lip product collection.
And also, I want to find out how many lipsticks I need to finally feel delighted.
What do I expect from a lipstick?
I want it to apply smoothly and evenly without any streaky finish
I don’t want it to feather in the summer and be unpleasant in winter.
I don’t want my hair to stick in it
I don’t want it to be drying out
I want it to be lip-friendly
Well, as you can see, I don’t require a lot. However, not all the lipsticks in my stash are able to meet all my demands.
And you know, NARS Velvet Lip Glide is one of those lipsticks which meet all the demands. This product (as all the other from NARS that I have) I bought from a local beauty store when it was discounted.
The sponge applicator is really soft and handy. It applies as much of the product as needed to cover both lips.
Usually, I have to wipe the leftovers over the rims of the tube, but here I don’t have to do it with this NARS Velvet Lip Glide. I guess this is all due to a very good stopper inside.
The lipstick doesn’t feather and doesn’t leak (there are some nasty lipsticks in my collection which always leak, no matter how well I twist them up).
I have my Glide in the color STRIPPED. It shows a fair beige color of pink undertone. The aroma is attractive and it feels like chocolate or sweet candy.
The consistency of the lipstick is creamy and it always applies with an even and thick layer. It feels pleasant on my lips and I almost don’t even detect it there. Within some time it becomes matte.
The tube is strict and stylish. In general, I like the idea of the NARS packaging design. It’s nice to hold in my hands as well as pull out of my handbag for a touch-up (well, in my case, I use this product more like a lip moisturizer).
NARS Velvet Lip Glide is lip-friendly because it has some moisturizing components in the formula, which keep my lips protected from drying out and chapping.
This is so cool when a lip product combines several in one, as some kind of a hybrid of cosmetics and a lip balm.
This is how the color looks on my lips. This lipstick flatters me all 100%! I use it with such pleasure in winter because in summer it’s obviously too fair for my lips.
NARS Velvet Lip Glide makes my lips appear visually more voluptuous. I love pouty lips! And you?
I understand that such color might be too “from 2000” but I’m head over heels with J.Lo’s lips of that time…
So, what do I get to say? This lipstick hits all the 5 stars! I love it, wear a lot and boast with it.
Do I want to try out the entire collection! I definitely do!
Highly recommended. This lipstick has never let me down and in general, it’s such a good working horse.
