I purchased this product on a whim… When I was looking at the Maybelline shelf at the drugstore, I was attracted by this lip pencil. The shade won me over, because I’m so much into nude lipsticks.
Such a type was not typical for me, as it is not just an ordinary lip pencil, but a 2 in 1 product (a lipstick and a lip pencil), so I decided to give a try.
The tone I have is № 630 Nude Perfection.
Made in the USA.
Volume: 7 g
The design is very pretty.
The lip pencil is quite thick yet compact.
The cap closes very well.
The crayon was initially very sharp, but it becomes blunt over time, so it has to be sharpened. It’s very soft and has a nice creamy texture, plus a fruity smell that is not in-your-face.
It is made of quality wood that is easy to sharpen.
When the tip is sharp, it’s very convenient and easy to draw the lip contour. Otherwise, the line is not so smooth and even. In the picture you may notice that it gets a little bit out of the lip contour.
The pencil gives a really good and thick coverage. Additionally, the pigmentation is on top. It ensures an intense and deep payoff right from the first coat. It applies to my lips with ease and very evenly. Also, it doesn’t form any clumps.
It can be used both as a lip contour pencil and a lipstick.
It does really remind me of a lipstick, because the texture is also gentle and melts away on my lips.
I have mixed feelings about the shade. In fact, it’s beautiful and many girls will probably love it.
I’m obsessed with nudes, but this one turned out to be a little bit too dark for me. Moreover, there is a hint of orange present here, but I like when the lipstick is equally beige and pink without any hints.
The shade looks different depending on the lighting.
It’s matte and doesn’t have any shimmer to it.
In the swatches the color is very close to reality, but in the other pictures when it’s on my lips, it looks a little lighter than it is. The thing is that the weather was gloomy the day I was taking these pictures.
The lip pencil is nice to use. The only thing is that the tip has to be sharpened very well. Then you won’t have any problems with a sharp lip contour. In the picture my pencil is already a little blunt.
The product feels quite comfortable on my lips.
Some people say that it dries out their lips extremely, but it’s not the case for me. The pencil behaves well on my lips and ensures even a slight dewy finish. However, my lips feel just a teeny bit sticky, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
To be honest, it does lack a little bit of moisture, because it’s not really a lipstick, that’s clear…
This nude behaves quite well and will look amazing on perfect lips without any imperfections.
If you actually have lip imperfections, it can emphasize them. It’s not a good option for problem lips, because the product will not look pretty.
Moreover, this lip pencil doesn’t set into my lip lines. I haven’t noticed any lip caring properties.
It has good staying power. The product lasts really well, about 2-3 hours and even more. It all depends.
I don’t know why, but I’m not into this lip pencil much and I use it very rarely.
The lip pencil is alright, but the shade is probably to blame…
I already have my favorite lipstick. It has a perfect nude tone, so I’m going to use it further on.
The idea of this lip pencil is exciting and the quality is alright. Plus, the product type itself is convenient to use, but it has its peculiarities. I mean sharpening, etc.
It’s very sad that the color range is not wider, because I would probably look for some other shades. __________________________________________________________________________________________
