This review is about Dose of Dew Face Gloss Glow Stick.
Even though I fell in love with some highlighters from NYX, my heart is not in this one.
NYX don’t usually pack their highlighters in cardboard, they come in simple plastic wraps. But I’m glad that there was any protection at all.
This highlighter comes housed in a regular bullet, like that of any lip balm, with an angled top.Smell:
I can’t say this is fragrance free, but the fragrance is barely perceptible.
The highlighter is available in only one color. It gives a silvery glow which transforms into peach pink and is only visible if you layer the product over and over again. I did it for the swatch.
Once blended, the highlighter gives an utterly delicate silvery glow. It may be visible in the swatch, but on my face it merges with oily shine.
The product has a lightweight formula, something between a fluid and a cream. It isn’t lightweight like a fluid, but it also doesn’t feel heavy like creamy highlighters.
Thanks to the formula, the product is easy to apply and blend.
That’s why I took the whole star off. I don’t see this highlighter on my skin at all. It seems to be there, but no.
That’s a shame.
Let’s look from a different angle:
The point is, the highlighter is indistinguishable from face shine. It’s hard to apply it over a face powder, and if you wear it under a face powder, the highlighter is absolutely invisible.
By the way, NYX AWAY ME GLOW is visible even when worn under face powder.
Why not to apply it over face powder then? The answer is simple: it disappears in 3-4 hours, as though by magic.
Well, this highlighter may work for ladies with dry or normal skin, but I dislike the sight of it on my combination skin. I don’t know whether I should recommend it or not, but in comparison with other highlighters by the brand, this one is a failure.
