Hey beauty addicts and shopaholics!
I devote my review to those who love using a highlighter and contouring their faces.
You have to be extremely skillful at lighting up your face, it is really hard. The brands are aware of that and make everything to help us deal with it by creating various shades and textures.
This time NYX has also released a new range of highlighters called Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders.
The color range is awesome.
It is available in 5 shades beginning from the ice blue to bright orange-y tones. They remind me of different times of the year.
Each shade costs around $8.
At first I thought that they are too vibrant and bold, but seeing these shades in action in one of the videos, I changed my mind. All the tones are definitely wearable, so I decided to give it a go.
Now let’s take a closer look at the color, texture and the packaging and learn about the staying power on the skin of an average Joe.
The packaging is a little fragile for my liking. However, I’m dead sure that it will be OK for you unless you drop it.
What is more, I have to say that the lack of a mirror is undesirable to me. I have to take a mirror with me, which is not very convenient. About the texture and color:
I’ve picked up the Ice Twilight Tint shade No.1. Here is the back of the packaging:
At first glance the shade seems white and a little moonshine in color.
Upon touching it, it turns into the ice blue glow on my skin, however.
This overflow is just stunning! The color turns into blue with a white undertone. The shade is soft and cold at the same time. It is a real winter color.
The texture is backed and dry, as you might have already noticed.
The intensity of the payoff depends on you. It is enough to squish your brush into the product once to achieve a light glow.
If you want to get this blueish glow, make around 3 strokes of the highlighter.
Here, I’ve applied the product very intensely to show the light blue glow.
It reality it looks more delicate, by the way:
About staying power:
I’ve been using this highlighter with a base, so it wears about 6-7 hours on me, taking into account the heat and my combination skin.
So, I would really recommend you give these cool new launches from NYX a shot.
