I have to say that I can beautifully draw cat wings and make stunning smokey eye makeup. But when it comes to eyebrows, here no, I’m a really ham-handed person. I have rather thick and very unruly brows. But recently something went wrong and the last visit to a brow specialist gave me thinner brows. Despite the fact that she said this shape is trendy now, I can see that she just over-plucked my brows and that’s all.
So, of course I have to use brow products to make my natural brows look more or less decent. I’ve tried a lot of brow gels but there was always something about them that I didn’t like. I want to have a product with a dry texture as I don’t like washing the brushes. And here it is the answer to all my demands and requests: the NYX Eyebrow Powder Pencil which is so perfect for me that it seems to have no downsides.

I don’t actually like the NYX brand design but this pencil looks good. It’s very stylish and professional-looking. The engraving is of very good quality as it doesn’t fade or get smudged.
One side of the pencil is infused with a spoolie brush. It’s covered with a transparent cap. On the other side there’s a pencil itself. It also closes with a cap. The colors of the cap and pencil slate coincide.
The spoolie brush is magnificent! It not only combs my brow hairs well and puts them up, but also blends out the applied pencil as well. I like using it on my unruly brows as it tames them pretty good.
I love this product so much that I bought it in three shades: 04 Caramel, 07 Espresso and 08 Ash Brown. And I’m so happy that all the pencils are of a great and the same quality.

I like the #08 Ash Brown shade most of all. I wear it almost every day and it suits me perfectly well. It matches my current hair color and looks very natural.
For dark haired girls, I think #07 Espresso will be fine! I don't use it now but if I dye my hair darker, I’ll definitely wear it too.
#04 Caramel doesn’t suit me now either. I think it’ll suit me if I dye my hair red.
Honestly, I applied all the shades on my brows and took the shots. But since the two shades don’t actually suit me, they looked too odd and strange on me and I decided not to attach them.

The texture of all the pencils is just perfect for me. It’s creamy and soft to some extent. I like filling in my brows with it.
Even though the pencils are soft they are easy to sharpen. The tip is always very sharp and I don’t have to sharpen them every day by the way. I usually do it once a week, which means that the product is economical and will go a long way.
The products are very well pigmented. For the first couple of uses I didn’t know that there was no need to press the pencil very much while application and always ended up with not very good-looking brows. Use light hand strokes to apply the products.
I like the powder natural looking finish very much! I think that the pencils won’t be liked by those who love graphical and very precised brows. But remember that you can vary the intensity of color by pressing it.

The staying power is excellent. I can’t predict how the product will behave on oily skin types, since mine is of combination and it stays there until the moment I remove it.
Sometimes I rub my brows during the day or get caught in the rain and nothing ever happens with my brows. They are always in place.

Here I rubbed my brows and pretty much I should say, the pigment has faded but still it’s there!
My brows look good and only the tip of the brow has faded a little.
I appreciate that while application, the product is easy to blend. It gets fixed on the skin but some moments after application so you always have time to correct the mishaps.
I wash the product off easily with a micellar water. Although some pigment may still stay on the brows.

Cons: I haven’t found any. I want to pay your attention once again to the fact that the product has a powder finish, so if you prefer precise and graphical eyebrows, you’d better toss this product.
But if you like naturally-looking good brows with great pigment and excellent staying power, then buy this product and you'll love it!
