Greetings シ
Today I would like to talk about a foundation which has become very popular, and for good reasons {IMAGE: 3}
NYX Professional Makeup Total Control Drop Foundation is supposed to create both sheer and full coverage. It comes a very stylish bottle made of thick frosted glass with a pipette.
The volume is only 13 ml. It’s really sad, because it’s such a small bottle for a foundation. I have highlighters that are 25 ml each.Accordingly, I think the price is too high ($14).
The tube has a nice stopper.
The foundation tends to accumulate on the the neck of the bottle, if it’s not wiped immediately.

There are 24 shades in the line, from almost white, as, for example, 01 Pale and 02 alabaster, to 24 deep espresso.
My hue is 05 Light / Clair, pretty light, although of course, when I first opened the tube, I thought it would be very dark. If there are no testers, you can focus on the color of the tube, and mentally imagine it even lighter.
The texture of the foundation is almost water with pigment, very runny.
My big problem is to pick up the right shade, because I'm not just snow-white - that's an understatement. 99% of foundation are either too dark or too yellow for me.
Most of the time I use Maybelline SuperStay 24h in the shade 03 Natural-beige. It is quite lightweight, it does not have any undertone and is simply neutral. And now in comparison, the NYX Total Control Foundation looked very yellow. However, after a while it adapted to my skin tone and it became much less noticeable than the Maybelline Foundation : O
They also have completely different formulas; Maybelline is still more visible when it’s blended.
My skin: white, with a pink-blue undertone, prone to reddening due to the sensitivity and proximity of the veins to the skin. Problematic, but when using appropriate care, I managed to bring it back to normal.
What to apply and blend it with?
I tried to apply the foundation both with my fingers and a brush. I found it more convenient to work with my fingers, it makes the finish more even. It’s not recommended to use with makeup sponges.
NYX Total Control Drop Foundation might be used for the following skin types: normal, combined and problematic. It won’t go for dry skin, as it will emphasize skin flakes.Photos "before" and "after":
Photo "after":
The photos speak for themselves -the foundation matches my skintone, there is no border at the neck at all. Full coverage, perfect skin relief. The complexion looks porcelain for some reason but at the same time, natural. No cakiness at all!
In 1,5 hours after the application, without setting powder:
The finish is velvety and semi-matte. It doesn’t feel sticky. A slight face shine in the T-zone appears only 4 hours after application. If I need matte skin for longer, I apply setting powder. It’s not waterproof so I don’t recommend that you wear it in the rain. It doesn’t settle into pores over plus, the color remains unchanged (it does not oxidize).
I don't get this thing with the number of drops you apply to achieve a desired coverage. One drop of the foundation isn't enough to cover my nose. Maybe they meant the pipettes.
I wash it off as always with hydrophilic oil and a Korean foam. You can also use micellar water for this purpose. No clogged pores, no new imperfections.
NYX Total Control Drop Foundation has become a holy grail product for me (just as the user with the nickname ‘mystery’ wrote in her review). There is nothing to complain about, except the little bottle.
