I haven’t tried anything of the brand before. Now when I finally tested it, I have pretty mixed feelings about it. But first things first.
Here is the Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Strobe and Contour Palette:
The first thing I noticed is that the packaging is very flimsy. The plastic material is cheap-looking and thin with a crack on the lower part of it.
Made in Taiwan.
The palette consists of 2 compartments. Right away, there is a setback: it doesn’t open up fully. Also, it is not firm in place even at 90 degrees:
It clicks shut securely. The upper compartment has 3 shades and the lower one has a brush and a mirror:
The mirror was initially covered with a protective film. It doesn’t distort the image:
The brush is made of synthetic bristles that are flexible and soft. The handle is quite peculiar and seems to be empty inside. It picks up the product well, but it’s hard to work with.
The products are powdery and all equally triple-milled.
The palette has a hardly noticeable makeup smell about it. I didn’t like it, but I luckily can’t feel it on my skin.
My experience with the product:
It has a brick-red undertone, but I have fair skin, so the shade doesn’t suit me.
I sometimes use it as eyeshadow and apply it to my crease.
Peculiarities: Apply this bronzer very carefully with slight and even strokes. I once applied too much of it one time and thought that it would be a problem to blend out like many other bronzers I had, but I was wrong.
It’s not only impossible to blend out, but also hard to remove even with my fingers.
This bronzer is the most dusty product out there. It’s totally matte.
The contouring product
The shade is lovely. It doesn’t have any hint of orange. It only has a slight hint of gray to it. It creates kind of a natural shade on my skin. The product is easy to blend out. It’s absolutely matte and a little bit dusty when picking up.
It’s a beautiful light shade that has a slight hint of yellow. It’s finely milled and easy to blend out. It looks matte in makeup, but there is fine shimmer to it when looking at the swatch.
However, the shimmer is so fine, that it is only visible when taking a closer look.
In general, I loved 2 out of 3 products and I use this palette with great pleasure. The bronzer didn’t just suit my skin tone, but I sometimes use it as an eyeshadow.
Here is the makeup created with this palette:
Here, I contoured my nose with it:
Before and after
Minus one star because of a flimsy and inconvenient package.
