As for my eyeshadow preferences, I can state that I love nude and natural looking shades. I also prefer warm toned colors as they suit my skin type. In my collection there are so many different satin and shimmer eyeshadows that I don’t have any matte at all! As it turned out it was so difficult to find a good palette with the right shades. Well, I know that I can always buy mono shades but I don’t like them as they are easy to lose.

So I found the Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Quad Addictive Eyeshadow palette for $7

Product says:

Rich, velvety shadows blend smoothly for beautiful, luxurious color that wears for up to 16 hours. Won’t crease, fade or smudge. Available in a variety of expertly color-coordinated palettes for your most gorgeous eyes yet.

The packaging and outer appearance

The packaging is straightforward and simply designed. The applicator is pretty lousy so it’ll be better to use your brushes.

The shades of the 500 Addictive palette:

#1

The fairest color in the palette. It’s matte with smallest shimmer particles to it. This shade is good to apply all over the eyelid as a base color. For the swarthy ones (I’m pale as paper) it’ll be also good to apply on the browbone. It’s easy to apply and blend.

#2

This one’s darker than the first one and of the same quality. I apply it either to the crease or all over the lid.

#3

The only non-matte color in the palette. It has a satin finish and I apply it in the crease. This one seems to have cooler undertones.

#4

It’s matte and has no shimmer. It blends beautifully. I apply it in the crease to intensify the make-up look and define my eyes.

Advantages:

  • Longevity. The only thing that may happen with these eyeshadows is that they may crease a little bit by the end of the day. My lids are oily so it’s not an issue for me.

  • Good range of shades. I’ve already mentioned it in the beginning of my review, the colors are great and versatile!

  • Different size of the refill pans. I appreciate that the refill pans are different in size and it’s logical that the fairest color is most frequently used and there should be more of it, as well as the darkest one is the least used and the refill is smaller. It’s genius!

  • Easy to blend.

Disadvantages:

  • none

Let’s move onto make-up

I’m not a professional, so don’t be too strict.

Make-up #1 Nude

I used #1 and #2

It’s easy. I applied #1 all over the lid and #2 in the crease. With this make-up on, my eyes look brighter yet 100% natural. I also accompany it with an eyeliner.

Make-up #2. Smart and day wear

I used #1 and #3

I apply #1 on my entire eyelid and #3 in the crease. Draw the wings and here it is. My favorite eye make-up is ready.

Make-up #3. Smokey eyes

I used #2 and #3

#2 over the lid, #3 in the crease. You see the #3 is almost the same as #2, so because of this similarity I created the smokey eyes effect.

Make-up #4. Evening like

I used #1 and #4

#1 all over the lid, #4 in the crease and the same # 4 to define the lash line. So that my eyes look bigger and more defined. The make-up looks evening-like.

I liked these eyeshadows very much. The quality is really good. The price is affordable. I guess that soon I’ll buy more palettes by this brand.

Highly recommended!
