I was planning to review one of my favorite multi-use eyeshadows for so long! And now I’m ready to do this I’m happy to introduce you the Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow Quad.
Outer appearance: The product comes in a glossy black plastic packaging with a transparent middle part, where you can see the texture of the shades. The simple straightforward palette is classy in design and has no frills, which I particularly love.
On the back you can find all the necessary information and directions to use with pictures.
The palette comes with a foam applicator, which I’ve never used, because I prefer using makeup brushes. Anyway the oval-shaped applicator looks good. It is flexible and convenient.
The palette clicks shut tightly and safely, but you won’t have to break your nails opening it.
Color range: Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eye Shadow is available in 12 palettes. The shades vary from nude to intense and vibrant, so every girl will find something for her liking.
I’ve chosen a traditional and the most popular palette in the range called Addictive No.500.
In my opinion, the shades are perfect and suitable to every skin type.
The palette is simply great for me, when I want to create a gentle everyday makeup. However, you can get a more intense color payoff easily by adding black lines.
The palette consists of 4 neutral shades.
That is how the shades look in the sun without a flash:
In the daylight with a flash:
The first shade has a light beige undertone. The shade looks somewhat yellow in the picture, but it is undetectable on the eyelid. I love applying it to the upper eyelid as a base for the lines. Plus, my skin tone looks even then. Moreover, I use it under my eyebrows too.
The second shade is also beige, but it looks colder and more gray than the previous one. It transforms into a warm light brown color on my skin. The shade is actually matte, but has some shimmer to it as well as the first shade.
The third shade is cold gray and has a satin finish. However, it can also get brown according to the lighting. It applies and blends well with a brush. Plus, the shade is not dusty.
The last shade is brown ochre with a matte finish. It seems a little bit red in the picture and in the palette itself, but looks perfectly brown without any hint of red or yellow on my skin.
I like applying the shade to the upper eyelid crease and build up a smokey eye makeup.
It has the best pigmentation out there. The shade blends out well, but dusts a little bit. I won’t call the shades highly pigmented, but they will do for an everyday makeup.
They apply and blend out without fuss and go well with each other. No fallout has appeared during application.
As I have already mentioned, I use the palette for simple everyday makeups:
1. Here I’ve applied the first shade on the upper eyelid and used the third shade for drawing the line and emphasizing the lower eyelid. Plus, a dark brown gel eyeliner.
2. I’ve applied the first shade under the eyebrows and to the inner corners of my eyes. Next I’ve distributed the second shade on the upper eyelid. The fourth shade was used for highlighting the upper eyelid crease and the lower lid.
Whenever I want to make my makeup to look more peculiar, I add blue eyeliner to it:
It looks extraordinary and fascinating to me.
The palette is also good for an evening makeup if you draw the black lines:
The wear time of all shades is on point! This is the reason I’m so obsessed with the palette. I feel confident during the day, as I know that my makeup won’t set into the fine lines or fade.
The shades are long-lasting even if you apply them without a base.
As far as you understand, I’m really excited about the product and will definitely recommend it to all the girls who prefer the gentle smokey eye makeup.
Thanks for reading my review! Stay tuned!
