When it comes to my daytime makeup I always choose nude and natural looking lipsticks which offer a matte finish. So, looking at the Color Lip Last Collection by Sephora I quickly grabbed some shades to fill in my makeup collection.
My shades are: Natural pink and Fresh nude.
Both shades are fairly pigmented and bright. The pigmentation is excellent. Both lipsticks have a pleasant berry scent but still there’s a difference with the way I feel them on my lips after application.
A few words about the Natural Pink shade:
My lips feel comfortable with this Natural pink
shade all over them. The lipstick applies with a very thick layer leaving a slightly creamy finish. The product doesn’t accentuate flaky skin and doesn’t dry out my lips either. It gets all over if I touch anything with my lips like cups or any other dishes. As for the wear time I can say that this lippie is rather long-wearing, though it fades from the inside of the lips after a bite. You’ll need to wash it of completely and only after that apply it again. I really like the color it offers as it’s true to what I see in the tube. It’s a true natural pink shade that I see on my lips which looks very flattering and decent.
Natural Pink on my lips
A few words about the Fresh Nude shade:
As for the Fresh Nude
, I can say the following - it performs different on my lips. This shade is really matte and highly pigmented. It looks terrible over non-primed lips and highlights all the flaky bits. It feels as though the lipstick literally sticks to my lips within an hour after application and becomes super drying and showing all the skin relief. It doesn’t look pleasant, you know, and all those discomforting feelings that I experience at that time stay on till the moment I actually remove the product from my lips. But as for the color itself I can say that it doesn’t get all over anywhere and its wear time is fantastic. The lipstick will easily survive a cup of tea. By the way, it is noteworthy that the lipstick looks darker on my lips than in the packaging. This is why I’m not raving about this color, as I prefer a more nude-like or lighter shades.
I’m really surprised at the fact that the lipsticks from one and the same collection have so many striking differences and characteristics. I bought these lippies online and I’ve never seen this information anywhere. The Natural Pink shade offers a creamy matte finish, while the Fresh Nude shade shows totally matte coverage.
Even though there are some issues with the application etc, I can say that the Color Lip Last Lipsticks by Sephora are pretty good for me.
It’s very unlikely that I repurchase, especially the new shades, as it’s absolutely impossible to predict the way they’ll perform on my lips.
