Today I’d like to make a review of the Sephora Wonderful Cushion Foundation. Recently there’s been a cushion craze, so each brand is trying hard to release their own cushion housed foundation product.
Sephora offers an ultra-fluid foundation suspended in a dab-on cushion sponge that combines the fresh and radiant look of a liquid with the practicality of a compact.
General information:

2. Packaging. It outwardly resembles a compact powder. The black case is run in Sephora’s design. When we open the lid we can see the dense sponge saturated with foundation fluid. There is a handy puff included to help you to apply the product. There’s a sticker with a list of ingredients:

-Albizia extract: Helps protect and smooth skin.
-Hyaluronic acid: Known for its moisturizing and smoothing properties.
4. There are four shades available and mine is #14 Soft beige.
5. Texture. The product is lightweight and unscented.

-Grab the puff and gently press down on the cushion sponge, which is pre-loaded with liquid foundation.
-Apply by gently dabbing onto your face.
-Always start in the center of your face and move outward.
-If you want more coverage, repeat until you obtain the desired amount.
My impressions and the result:
Before I bought this compact I had already known what the cushion product was. I can remember how flabbergasted I was when I applied Miracle Cushion from Lancome for the first time. Its coverage was so lightweight and I used to think that I would never find a product like the Lancome cushion. How wrong I was! The cushion from Sephora is no less worse than Lancome’s one.
What’s cushion and why is it so special? It is a sort of compact but yet liquid foundation in a cushion.
Achieve instantly even, smooth, fresh, and naturally radiant skin all day long with this moisturizing and long-lasting foundation. Wonderful Cushion provides buildable, light to medium coverage without any cakey effect or lines of demarcation. The compact packaging makes it ideal for touch-ups throughout the day, while the ultra-fluid formula—enriched with pure pigments, soft focus agents, and gel filler—flawlessly evens out the skin and conceals imperfections. The micro-aerated puff is specifically designed to deliver the perfect amount of foundation through a unique application technique of dabbing the foundation onto the skin for buildable and controllable coverage.
I find this type of foundation really handy as it easily eliminates use of any additional brushes or sponges. It’s travel-friendly and will get into any purse to take up with you and touch-up during the day. Does this cushion go a long way? I’d say yes, rather than no. When I dab the sponge with a puff, there’s a right amount of the product comes out, so for a light coverage I need to press it 2-3 times. Of course if you’re a fan of a more moderate coverage, you’ll need to use more product, as the formula is build-able and the spending will be way more.
Let’s talk about the main characteristics of the Wonderful Cushion Foundation.
My skin is dry with enlarged pores and dark under-eye circles. There’s also some flaking from time to time.
Shade: 14 Soft Beige. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the fairest one in the collection. There’s no shimmer particles to it and it has a satin finish. With this product I get the “my skin but better” appearance all the time.
Coverage: It’s very lightweight. The product evens out my skin tone, giving it a healthy glow but it doesn’t cover any imperfections. It doesn’t settle into pores or highlight flaking, on the contrary, this foundation moisturizes my skin really well. It’s a find for dry skin. The product can be applied over a face primer as well as without it.
After application my skin is soft, smooth, silky and moisturized. The finish is very natural. If needed you can layer this product, but I doubt that it’ll help you conceal any well visible blemishes.
Longevity. From 10 am till 7 pm. By the evening I had a light hint of oily shine, but nothing a blotting paper couldn't salvage. Wonderful Cushion Foundation is a product that really gives moisture to my dry skin, that’s why it stayed on so beautifully.
It’s perfect for you if:
you like natural-looking make-up and want your foundation to just even out your skin color. And also opt for this product if your skin is dry.
It’s not for you if:
you have problematic skin. This product will do nothing with reddening, acne scarring or dark under-eye circles.
What season will this cushion be ideal for? I think that this product is universal and will be good for any season. In spring and summer we all need a lightweight product and undetectable coverage, while during fall or winter this cushion is a good option for indoor workers who need moisture and lasting power from their foundation.
