I adore everything that Shu Uemura creates! I can remember how I returned from my honeymoon from Asia with plenty of makeup products, mainly consisting of the ones from Shu.
Some of the products are still in use nowadays. And recently, my collection was filled with this iconic lipstick from the brand.
Packaging
See-through tube in a silver casing of a lipstick. I think it’s the best option if you’re a makeup artist because you’ll always see what color you’re taking.
The stick is round, slanted and perfect for outlining my lips.
About the shade- BG965 is a muted berry shade of average deepness without shimmer. By the way, it doesn’t shift to mauve as it may happen rather frequently.
Such shades are ideal for me because at the time being I hardly ever do my eye makeup to the fullest and usually use accents with the brighter than nude lipsticks.
The coverage is glossy yet not shiny. Just a beautiful and natural finish.
And now about my impressions of use- Like I’ve said before, it’s not difficult to line my lips with the stick. That’s super important for the shades that I use every day. The product applies smoothly, it doesn’t accentuate dry patches or crease in the fine lines. Such an awesome blur for lips.
The pigmentation is fine. My natural lip color is covered fully. It isn’t a semi-sheer lipstick, it’s a full coverage product that can contour my lips as well.
My makeup is fresh with it + lips appear poutier.
The contour stays put throughout the day. I always wear it alone and don’t line my lips with liners because I’m too lazy to bother about it.
But the lipstick does its job well and doesn’t bleed or feather. It’s noteworthy that it doesn’t dry out my lips but on the contrary, moisturizes them because of those oils in the ingredients.

The staying power of such a product is excellent. If I don’t eat anything fatty, the coverage is still there by the end of the day with a slight tint. Now, when I’m writing this review, it’s evening and I can still see the shade on my lips. It’s just more muted and matte.
Overall
It’s absolutely worth trying as well as other shades from the Rouge Unlimited collection too!
