Metallic shades are extremely popular in 2017, so Sleek decided to launch their collection with such an effect too. It is called Distorted Dreams and has 3 lipsticks and 1 highlighter.
I’ll tell you about the highlighter a little later, but right off the bat, I’m obsessed with it.
Now I’d like to show you two lipsticks of the range.
The collection consists of 3 shades: Rusted Rose, Volcanic, and Roman Cooper. I have the first two of them and I can say that they are the most fascinating for me.
The packaging looks traditional as the whole Matte Me range.
The product comes in a rectangular black transparent package with a matte cap and the name of the brand on it. The cap is covered in a protective film, so the packaging is tamper-proof.
There is also a sticker with all the information beginning from the ingredients to the batch number, which would be interesting for the customer.
On the bottom you can see the name and number of the shade. Some of us like memorizing our favorite color by its name and some for its number.
As opposed to the Matte Me line, these lipsticks apply in a thinner coat, whereas it can be layered to achieve a more intense color.
Apparently the manufacturer has developed a better formula, because it’s more comfortable to wear and less drying to my lips than Matte Me. The texture is creamier and distributes evenly on my lips.
The product dries out completely in 40-50 secs, so you can correct the coverage easily, if required. The lipstick stays locked on all day and survives after a cup of coffee or a snack.
It removes with a two-phase makeup remover.
Now I’m going to talk about each shade. I’ll show you all of them in action.
It’s a metallic rosewood with a nice texture that applies and coats effortlessly. The shade has a synthetic fragrance, but it’s not off-putting.
The color is gorgeous yet controversial. The thing is that such a shade was popular in the 90s and in early 2000s. The trend is going nowhere, you know.
On the other hand, the matte lipstick has a significant advantage, which is its versatility.
Due to the long-lasting matte formula, the color can be used as a topper for a red lip pencil. In this case you get a red shade on your lips with a cold overflow.
Also, you can use a black pencil, which transforms an ordinary hue into a complicated voluminous color.
More than that, the shade can be used as a long-wearing eye tint. With this lipstick you can draw the lines or add a little bit of it to your upper eyelid. The lipstick functions as an eyeshadow base really well.
This is probably the most amazing duochrome shade out there. It has the same properties as Rusted Rose.
It’s a mix of golden and pink particles on the gray undertone. It’s so sad that the other two shades do not perform the same way. The color is voluminous and looks different according to the lighting.
It can also be layered and used with black, green and red lip pencils as well as the previous shade.
Even the most ordinary beige lipsticks can get an awesome pink and golden overflow with this lipstick on. Moreover, the color can be used in an eye makeup, too.
Compare the swatches of both shades:
The collection is great taking into account both the color range and the properties of the product. It’s a perfect solution for those who want to try a trendy metallic effect for an affordable price. I highly recommend the Volcanic shade, because you can create your own color with it. The other two shades are also amazing, but not as complicated.
Recommended to everyone!
