Hello guys!
Today I want to put aside the Korean cosmetics and to speak about some other products. Sometimes I think that I own only Korean products but no, when I look at my beauty table, I can see that there are a lot of by American as well as European brands. But of course the Korean products are the leaders.
Today I want to make a review of the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water.
Price: $42
Size: 30ml
Packaging:
The bottle with a foundation fluid was packed in a cardboard box.
The bottle is made of glass
As the consistency of the fluid is watery and runny it comes with a glass-dropper.
To make the product come out, you need to press the “button” on the top cap.
The product with a glass dropper isn’t something new on the market. Almost every cosmetic brand has already released a serum or any other product to come out this way.
The packaging looks very classy and stylish, as the Smashbox brand is professional.
On the packaging there’s a list with ingredients:
The consistency, as it was already mentioned above is runny and watery. I need a few drops for my entire face, so I guess that the product will go a long way.
I have it in the Light shade with yellow undertones which seems to be a little bit dark even for my swarthy complexion. But I didn’t make a mistake choosing this shade, I made it on purpose as I needed a foundation product especially for the summer. It’s autumn now and I’m still tanned so the product is fine for me.
The aroma is neutral and difficult to make out.
My experience with the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water:
Shake the product well before use!
The fluid is easy to take out with a dropper. The texture is best applied with fingers. During application, I have a feeling that I apply a skin care product and not a foundation fluid.
This is how my bare skin looks like. I’m still a little bit tanned. (I like it, when I’m tanned. My skin looks better then and visually evened out. All the acne scars and minor blemishes become less visible which I’m very happy about)
But even if I’m tanned my skin still has some blemishes which I have to conceal with foundation products.
I’m applying the fluid
The product is very easy to apply on my face. Even though it’s light in texture, it gives good coverage that is enough to conceal small skin blemishes like pimples and acne scars.
I don’t want to use a concealer now, so I just layer the product in the areas where I feel I need a little bit more coverage.
The product has a satin finish. My skin becomes velvety to the touch and it looks as though lit from within.
It stands to reason that the product is called “Camera Ready”. The Smashbox company was founded by two famous brother photographers. And the Smashbox was the name of the studio they were working in. For a very long time the brothers couldn’t find cosmetic products to look good in the photos. That’s why one day they decided to make a cosmetic company and release the products to meet all their demands.
This fluid looks great in photoshoots, as well as in real life. I’m completely delighted with it and I’m planning to buy a fairer shade to wear in winter.
And here’s a total look. (My skin is oily and I have to use translucent powder)
Overall:
The product creates a beautiful veil over my face that is so lightweight that I feel nothing wearing it. My skin remains beautiful and it breathes with this fluid. Even though the product is lightweight, it’s well pigmented. It gives good coverage that is enough to conceal minor blemishes. If you don’t expect full coverage from this product, you’ll love it. The fluid has a satin finish and it really goes a long way.
The fluid looks natural on the face in pictures as well as in real life. I also appreciate the SPF 30 in the product.
(Of course from time to time, when my skin breaks out, I prefer some thicker products with a better coverage)
Thanks for your attention!
Yours, Sofie
