Hello there!
Primers…
They can be different - hydrating, mattifying, anything to flatter any skin types. Along with classy primers, there are also mists which also work as makeup primers, as well as setting products.
Smashbox Primer Water Juice So-Chill Coconut is a primer and a setting spray in one.
I bought it from the official site to dupe my Estee Lauder Set + Refresh Perfecting Makeup Mist.
I love spray primers because they are quick and handy to use. I also appreciate that such products are usually multi-tasking.
They can be moisturizing, as well as used throughout the day to refresh your skin and set your makeup.
Design
Usually, spray primers don’t stand out with their super design.
Usually, it’s a regular plastic see-through bottle with the liquid inside. And yeah, the packaging is safe and it protects the bottle with the spray well. The design here is vibrant and really summer-like. All those palm trees make me nostalgic about my long-awaited vacation. By the way, all the primers from the collection have palm trees on them, even the orange and cucumber ones.
The packaging offers some pieces of advice on how to use the product:
The tube with the bottle looks identical with the box design-wise.
It’s a semi see-through bottle of a green and orange color shift and palms on it.
The bottle comes with a cap that is easy to take off.
The spray works well, even better than my previous primer.
It sprays the liquid evenly with a gentle and coconut cloud. The spray doesn’t hit my face.
There’s also some product info on the bottle:
Aroma
It’s coconut and pleasant. It’s obvious that it doesn’t smell natural, of course. But I don’t take it as a minus. I love all the elements of the coconut smell.
Consistency
Actually, it may look like water.
But in life, the primer isn’t water indeed.
When I spray it, the product films the surface, that really holds on my makeup.
Use
As I’ve already said, the product is multi-tasking. One can use as it as a hydrating mist or as a makeup primer and a setting spray.
Just spritz it all over your face and let it sink in.
Results of use
Well, the product does nothing about my makeup if I use it as a primer. It doesn’t smooth out my skin texture or anything. But still, my foundation stays on well over it. The coverage applies well and simple.
As a finishing product, the spray works better. It sprays evenly and as though mixes all the products together. It dries down quickly, boosting my face radiance.
As a finishing spray:
My opinion:
In fact, the product isn’t bad as a finishing spray. My makeup appears brighter with it and in general my complexion looks glowing. This is exactly what I was looking for from it. Besides, it’s a cool product to use for aesthetic delight.
The spray is easy to apply evenly over my face. It literally cuddles my face with a gentle coconut cloud.
It sets quickly and I don’t even have to dry it out by fanning my face with something to make the process go faster.
My foundation glides over it. I have a foundation that doesn’t want to set anyway, but with this product, it sets and doesn’t travel anymore.
The spray reveals the brightness of my makeup and really deprives me of cakeness for a natural finish.
My face is fresh and hydrated throughout the day.
The aroma is pleasant and coconut with subtle vanilla notes. So, if you love such notes, you’ll love this product too.
