Hello everybody! There are a lot of reviews of the newly released Tom Ford eye quads for Winter 2018-2019. Many people have already had a chance to test and try out these palettes. I liked 3 of them - Virgin Orchid, Pretty Baby and Leopard Sun. Currently, there’s only 1 in my collection, which is Pretty Baby. This is the palette which I haven’t seen or heard a negative review of. This is what I’m going to talk about today.
So, Tom Ford eye color quad #25 Pretty Baby.
The design of the quads remained the same, which is for the better.
Here there’s that very posh glossy casing, golden framing, excellent mirror, and a soft pouch. Inside the palette, there are still 4 refills with eyeshadows but this time there are 3 satins and one glittering shade. The glitter is magical. It seems to be the most long-wearing (even comparing with other glittery shades from Tom Ford from #01 Golden Mink palette).
The weight of the product - 9g (1g less in comparison with previously launched palettes).
A few words about each shade + swatches:
The first one in the palette is the softest duochrome shade with beige and pink shift. I’ve never even thought that a beige color could be so beautiful. It reminds me of the Armani eye tint #11. This color is deep, complicated and even if I apply it with one stroke, it still appears very voluminous.
The second shade is satin cool mauve, which is gray once I blend it out. It’s also shifting but not as much as the first shade. It’s kind of a difficult one for me because I’m not a fan of such colors. But still, it’s interesting and even unique for my eyeshadow collection. It is apt for solo wearing, as well as blending and outer crease darkening.
The third quad is a glittery duochrome shade, which combines pink, blue and green flecks to it. It’s very well packed with pigments. The base is warm and pink-toned. The shade is rich for daytime as well as evening makeup. And I feel so frustrated when I see that there isn’t a picture that shows its color true to life.
Cool brown with some golden fleck to the formula didn’t impress me much. The fourth shade isn’t that bad but it’s dry. The basic shade is here to make the palette versatile and multi-functional.
As for the characteristics:
The first two shades are very similar: they are super soft, nice to blend out and they never look too flat on my lids. The staying power is excellent no matter what I apply them over - a cream eyeshadow or a primer. The brown color is drier but it isn’t still too problematic. Average pigmentation.
The glitter is soft, creamy and it never falls out. I can feel free to apply it even with a damp brush for a more prominent effect.
1. Makeup
For this makeup, I used all the shades from the palette. It’s unbelievable simply and nice to do. So beautiful and elegant look.
The next makeup look is more beige and brown based:
For the second look I used the mauve shade and the dark brown one:
The Tom Ford Pretty Baby eyeshadow palette has turned out to be a fantastic one for me. The quality is nothing to doubt about. Now the texture of the products is even softer, silkier and lighter. I’m pleased with my purchase, even though I used to think that these shades wouldn’t flatter me. Now I consider it as the best purchase of mine during 2018.
