Hello everyone!
Violet Voss is an indie brand that is quite progressive and outstanding. It is mainly known for eyeshadow palettes, but on their official website you can also find lipsticks, makeup tools, highlighters, etc.
So, the range is wide, but the market is already full of liquid matte lipsticks and highlighters, but eyeshadow palettes are always in demand.
❤ Violet Voss x Nicol Concilio Eye Shadow Palette ❤
This palette is designed in collaboration with the famous Nicol Concilio, a Youtube-vlogger. Nicol has already worked with some huge cosmetic brands. For instance, she produced the brush set along with Tarte.
The girl has 700 000 followers on Youtube and a million on Instagram. She created the names of every shade herself, for ex., the shade Zo-Zo is the name of her dog
❤ General information ❤
The palette has 20 shades
3 textures: matte, metallic and satin
Each refill weighs 1.8 g. Overall weight: 36 g
Cruelty free and vegan
Contains jojoba oil
Costs $45.
You can purchase it on the official website, cultbeauty, sephora, etc.
❤ Design ❤
The palette is made of cardboard with a holographic picture that overflows very beautifully
No fingerprints are noticeable on the package. The cap has a magnetic closure that opens up about 210 degrees.
Inside you can find a big and quality mirror that doesn’t distort the picture, so you can use it. However, it’s not very handy because of the cap that can’t be fixed in one position.
On the back you won’t find any information about the product. There is only the name of the brand on Instagram and their official website. All the other deets, i.e. the ingredients, weight, etc. are on the outer package, which I have already thrown away. You can find the product description on their website, however.

❤ Shades ❤
The first three rows
The last row
NYC is a lilac-blue duochrome with a white undertone. The shade is chalky, applies in a transparent coat and doesn’t sparkle when applying with a dry brush.
Zo-Zo is light golden and not chalky. It’s bright and applies very smoothly.
Bruh is a light apricot. It’s a good matte shade or a so-called transition shade. The pigmentation is medium, but it coats perfectly.
Pizza is a dark-red-brown shade. It’s highly pigmented and bright. It blends out and layers really well. Actually all matte shades out there blend out and layer well, so I won’t be telling you about it anymore.
Mars is orange with a hint of pink. This tone is less pigmented as Pizza.
Daisy is warm beige. The color is great for setting the eyeshadow base and for blending out the crease.
Hangry is a neutral brown color that I mostly use. I love blending out my crease with this shade. The pigmentation is medium.
Blou reminds me of Mars quite a lot, but this one is more pinkish. To be honest, all three shades look almost the same in the crease
Hey Girl is sienna, as the Sephora website describes it. It’s red-brown, really gorgeous and well-pigmented.
Chawwcolate is dark chocolate, highly-pigmented and really nice. I use it for my lower eyelid and for the corners of my eyes.
Glorious is a pink-gold duochrome that is well-pigmented, soft and very bright.
Nicol is named after Nicol Concilio herself. It’s the softest shimmer shade out there. It’s a copper shade, which is very soft and smooth. Moreover, it hardly leaves any fallout. The pigmentation is medium.
Sagittarius is golden-bronze and very gentle. The pigmentation is good, but the shade falls out while applying.
GiGi is red-bronze and looks almost the same as Sagittarius on the eyelids.
It also has medium pigmentation and leaves fallout.
Palm tree is my favorite hue of this palette. It’s a green-bronze duochrome with golden glistening particles. This shade is glowing, highly-pigmented and looks like foil when applying with a wet brush.
L.A is bright gold and looks like a more pigmented and intense version of Zo-Zo. It doesn’t leave any fallout.
Victoria is a bright, well-pigmented golden tone. It looks the same as L.A. on my eyelids. No fallout.
Boop-Bop is a dark mustard color. It’s highly pigmented and not dusty. Moreover, it applies very smoothly.
Pingy is the highlight of this palette and such an eye-catching shade. However, it is of bad quality. The texture is very sturdy and coarsely milled. It is dusty and can be applied with an eyeshadow base only.
Also, it can be applied by tapping only, as it blends out very badly.
Retrograde is a good black shade, but it didn’t impress me. It blends out well, but I use it damp as lines only.
❤ Makeup looks ❤
This palette ensures vibrant evening makeups mainly, but some light daytime looks are also possible.
Here, I’ve applied Sagittarius to my mobile lid and added a golden hint with the shade Victoria. Also, I used Bruh and Hangry for my crease and Chawwcolate to my lower eyelid and inner corner of my eyes. After that I applied a highlighter under my brows and Catrice Velvet Matt 010 to the inner corners of my eyes.
Here, you can see Pingy on my mobile lid applied on the NYX Liquid Suede 10 AMETHYST base. I hardly managed to apply it with tapping motions with a wet synthetic brush Hangry was used as a blending color. On the lower eyelid you can find Chawwcolate. The line is made with Retrograde and a wet brush.
Here I used Palm Tree for my mobile lid on a base with a dark-brown Vivienne Sabo Regard Coquet 303 eye pencil. Hangry is applied to my crease and Chawwcolate to my eyelid and a little bit to the outer corner of my eyes. Also, I emphasized the inner rim of my waterline.
Bruh and Hangry are used for my crease and lower eyelid, only Glorious to my mobile lid, Catrice Velvet Matt 010 to the corners of my eyes, plus Zo-Zo on top of it.
Here, I applied Hangry to my crease and Glorious to my mobile lid with a base, which is the creamy theBalm Batter Up eyeshadow in the shade Shutout. Hangry and Chawwcolate are applied to my lower eyelid. In addition, I used the NYX Slide On pencil in 13 Jewel for my waterline.
And finally here is the mixture of Hangry, Pizza, Mars and Chawwcolate. Also, I added a little bit of Catrice Velvet Matt 010 to the middle of my mobile lid, under my brows and to the corners of my eyes.
❤ Outcome ❤
This eyeshadow is quite long-lasting on me. I apply it to a concealer and set it with a powder, as my skin is prone to getting oily.
The product doesn’t crease or fade. However, keep in mind that the staying power is different for every skin.
The shades have different textures. Some of them are good and some of them are bad. I would give 3+ to the shimmering shades and 5 to the mattes, as they are very easy to work with. If you are looking for a basic eyeshadow palette for every day, this one is not for you. If you already have a good everyday palette, this option won’t disappoint you.
Pros:
Cons:
some satin tones are sturdy and have low pigmentation
there is no cold shade for the crease
too many similar colors
no light matte shade for setting the base
the spilled shades are hard to remove from the packaging
I use these eyeshadows very actively, when I need something more than just a daily makeup. So, highly recommended!
