Hey everyone!
I’d like to share my thoughts on Yves Saint Laurent stain today. So first up, I’m glad I’ve learnt this product after trying not a full-size version, but a sample! Honestly, it’s the worst lip product I’ve ever had! If I have bought the YSL full size stain, I would’ve been so depressed! But first things first.
Yves Saint Laurent stain
Description:
1. Country of origin: France
Yves Saint Laurent stain
2. Packaging. I received a tester in 3 shades with a spongy-tipped applicator wand. The full-size stain comes in a tube that reminds me of a nail polish.

Applicator.
The soft wand is slanted at both ends to precisely define the outline of your lips. It’s very convenient for filling in your lips. The applicator seems peculiar to me.

3. The texture is thick and hard to spread out. It reminds me of a gel nail color with a nice, not offensive fragrance.
4. I have the stains in Pop water No 202, Pop water No 204 , Plump-up No 200.

My experience. Result.
I was totally disappointed with the product! Before I start sharing my experience with it, I’d like to show you how the stain should’ve actually looked on my lips.
Yves Saint Laurent stain
Application. The stain spreads out quite blotchy with light and dark streaks. It sets into my lip lines awfully! It’s not like an ordinary lip gloss or liquid lipstick, because the texture is too thick and syrupy. It feels like I spread a jam on my lips!

After the application a film appears on my lips. A short time later when they are dry, there is a glossy finish. The most vexing thing is that my lips dry out unevenly as well. I tried to distribute the color with my fingertips, but the shine disappears then.
The only plus of the product is its convenient and soft applicator, which defines the outline of my lips perfectly.
Pop water No 202
The shade applies and spreads out incredibly hard and uneven. The color winds up in the outline of my lips. Besides, it’s not long-lasting at all. The glossy shine fades in 30 minutes after application. The shade penetrates into my lips, thus looking messy. No way it’s a high-end product!

The shade is not for my liking. It looks better in the packaging than on my lips.

Pop water No 204
I liked this shade more than the previous one. It was also hard to apply, but the color is perfect for summer, I love it! It’s bright pink with a blue undertone.

Plump-up No 200
It’s the most pleasant shade to use and wear. My lip lines and peeling are not so noticeable because of the color. The shade is cooling to my lips. It contains some fine shimmer in it. The manufacturer promises to give some volume to your lips, but you better not expect anything special from this stain. However, the color looks very natural and beautiful.

Coverage. The stains are lowly pigmented. I don’t know how many coats to apply to get an intense payoff. I don’t have it even after three coats! The product flows and sets into my lip lines.
The glossy finish stays for 30 mins, but then it disappears leaving my lips patchy and blotchy. The gloss itself reminded me of a tacky gel nail polish.
Moreover, my lips were not matte as was stated by the manufacturer. The stain didn’t dry my lips out. It looked more like a silicone film on me.
The wear time is nothing! It lasts two hours at most and doesn’t survive after eating and drinking. All in all, there is nothing revolutionary about the stains. They are bloody awful! I want to wash them off ASAP when I wear it.
Shades. Generally speaking, I’m underwhelmed by these shades. The red and pink look cheap and mean. Other less expensive brands have more decent colors, actually.
I don’t recommend Yves Saint Laurent stains! The stains deceived my expectations utterly. I’m not ready to fork out my cash for this product.
