♡ Hello everybody!♡
Today I’m writing a long awaited review of Yves Saint Laurent, Black Opium (EDT).
I was waiting so long to write it, as I had to think it out thoroughly and not miss out any details, as it’s absolutely impossible to describe this perfume in a few words.
Size: mine is 30ml, also available 50 and 100ml
Price: $75 at Sephora
Design:
The bottle with the perfume is magnificently beautiful! You can’t pass it by and not to fall in love with this glittery shining bottle. The bottle resembles a nail lacquer, that’s my association.
Even the box the perfume was in, is gorgeous. Of course I didn’t throw it away, it’s so beautiful that I store it on the shelf.
The bottle is infused with a brilliantly working dispenser which makes the perfume come out cloud-shaped. And it always dispenses a right amount of product: never too much or too little.
On the box there’s a list of ingredients given, if any of you are interested, then you can have a look:
Fragrance characteristics and notes:
This perfume sounds like a spicy-oriental one. It’s very intense, tempting and enticing. It is that kind of perfume that is landmark creating. You’ll definitely stand out if you wear it. I fell for this perfume the very moment I sniffed it. It’s more evening-like, rather than for a day wear. But since I’m heads over heels with love with Black Opium, I wear it all the time.
Notes:
Top Notes: Coffee, Pink Pepper.
Heart Notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Vanilla.
Base Notes: Patchouli, Cedar.
The sillage is there and it’s rather potent. The fragrance sets after a few hours of wearing leaving me with the smell of coffee and something sweet, yet spicy.
Staying power:
The aroma stays on my skin all day long. If I spritz my clothes with Black Opium, its the aroma will be there until I wash the clothes. My scarf smells of this perfume for a very very long time.
The fragrance is complete, there isn’t a note to stand out. It’s a masterpiece among fragrances.
Some time ago when I heard them describing a perfume as “sexy”, I couldn't understand how could they call a perfume “sexy”. But after I bought this one, I finally understood what they meant. The perfume is embracing and passionate. I don’t wear it every day, for me it’s a special one. I’m absolutely in love with Black Opium.
The bottom line:
The most important things in a perfume are staying power and the smell, for sure. And Black Opium meets all my demands and preferences.
From the bottom of my heart, I definitely want to recommend that you give this fragrance masterpiece a go.
Yours, NataHappiness, see you!
