Hi

Clarins is my number one brand when it comes to disappointments. I’m not trying to say that this is an overhyped and bad brand, but I’ve tried a lot of their products, from cleansers to face creams. I was struck even by their legendary face oil. Give it some time, they said, find the right proportions, they said, and if your face breaks out, wait for a few weeks until it gets used to the oil. Yeah, great.

However, I have a few products from this brand that I’ve been buying for 5 years now that I can’t live without.

Well, let’s get started with the hero of this review.

Product info:

Weakened skin? Sunburn, extreme climates, hard, salt or chlorinated water, minor cosmetic treatments*—when life takes a toll on your skin, give it a boost! Booster Repair helps sensitive skin fight back. Its unique formula is enriched with Mimosa Tenuiflora extract, a Mayan plant known for its soothing properties. Just 3-5 drops, mixed with your Clarins face care, gets skin back on track when you need it the most. Use it for a day, a week, a month—any time your skin needs a boost.Do not use alone. Must be mixed with another face product.

What else? Formula, aroma. This is a viscous substance to use only when your skin feels extremely bad. Not more often and not solo, but as addition to face care only.

In use: I tried to add the booster to my face creams and masks, use directly on my face and even with a hand cream, but it didn’t work.

Ingredients:

Glycerin, Water, Propylene Glycol, Panthenol, Mimosa Tenuiflora Bark Extract, Allantoin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid.

Pros: There are none. At all.

Cons:

1. The producer says, it shouldn’t be used alone. They say, it’s a highly concentrated formula, but of what? Glycerine? Panthenol? These two can soften skin, though.

2. Makes skin oily and creates a film on it.

Any face care product mixed with this becomes more viscous and doesn’t absorb well. Even if a moisturizer suits you, this booster will spoil it. I thought maybe it didn’t work with products from other brands, but no, even with a Clarins moisturizer the result was as awful as before. My face shines with it, looking as though I’ve applied too much highlighter or a rich baby cream.

3. This booster gives no result. I mean, no positive result. I was using it when it was cold but it didn’t make my skin feel comfortable.

4. And the cherry on top...It’s comedogenic. Nice. After a week of using this booster I broke out and it looked terrible!

Thanks for reading this.
