Greetings!
In my opinion, makeup removal is the most important stage of one’s skin care routine. As a person who loves trying new stuff, I’m on a constant lookout for makeup removers, face cleaners etc.
Clinique Take the day off Cleansing Balm is one of my recent purchases.
Its packaging is not typical for products of this kind : it’s a violet jar with silver cap.Weight: 3.8 oz/ 125 ml.
Country of origin: Japan
The list of ingredients may be found on the bottom of the jar.
The balm itself you can find under the cap.
The absence of the protective foil \ additional lid was an unpleasant surprise. One star off.
The balm is fragrance-free, it smells like regular oil in my opinion. Its formula is somewhat solid and waxy, it starts melting when in contact with warm fingers.
Due to the solid formula it’s not convenient to scoop the balm out of the jar. Plus the application feels like smearing a melting butter all over your face
Like regular cleansing oils, the balm must be applied on dry skin only, massaged onto it and washed off with water.
For illustrative purposes, I’ve put on a few makeup products like lipstick, eyeshadows, mascara, two pencils, eyebrow set and lip liner :
I applied the balm, massaged it over the skin and waited. As you can see, some products weren’t instantly removed. I had to rub them a bit more.
In general, the balm truly removes cosmetic products. But in fact, it leaves an unpleasant oily feeling, making me want to wash my face once again.
So, my impressions are quite controversial.
Pros:
It does its job plus it’s economical
Cons:
No protective foil, an unpleasant oily feeling and, of course, the price : $29.00
In my opinion, for the price it’s possible to purchase a better makeup remover without such cons.
