BHA acids are known for their ability to penetrate even the deep levels of the skin. Thanks to this, it’s possible to achieve an effect of clean, smooth and blemish-free skin. I don’t have pimples but I want to get rid of large pores and blackheads. To reach this goal, I tried this very treatment, so praised by many bloggers, namely the COSRX Natural BHA Skin Returning Emulsion.
Most treatments by this brand have simple bottles and outer boxes, which resemble some drug packaging.
They say they use no excessive ingredients. All in all, the emulsion seems to be promising.
The bottle is tall and smooth, and equipped with a pump. I only need 1-2 pumps to get the desired amount.
The emulsion is runny and muddy, with a potent smell of the alcohol, which evaporates quickly.
The emulsion is lightweight and moisturizing, and at first it felt as though there were no acids in there. But the tingling sensation gave me hope that the emulsion would work.
The Korean skincare system consists of many levels, and this emulsion cannot be used alone and cannot replace face cream, toner and serum. Personally I applied it after my toner and before my face cream.
The cream you pair this with should be lightweight too in order to avoid the multi-layered film on your face. This emulsion should be used when it’s not too sunny to avoid hyperpigmentation.
Unfortunately, after more than two months I haven’t noticed any visible improvement. All my blackheads, enlarged pores and sebum are still here.
However, there were no allergy reaction or reddening. The emulsion covers my skin in a thick layer, giving it a nice moisturizing effect, but the acids are too weak. Maybe it’s because of my way too dense and oily skin. Maybe they will show better results on a dry and thin skin.
Even though this very serum disappointed me, I have to mention that CosRX have other worthy products that I like very much.
