Pros: doesn't irritate skin, nice ingredients, suitable for eye area, works quickly

I’m not the one who is fond of experiments. If I finally find a good product I will use it really long.

It happened with the Bioderma Sensibio H2O that was good in all respects, but then I couldn’t find it in the store around my area anymore.

After a while I decided to give the micellar water from the Korean Dr.Jart+ a go.

THE CLAIMS

An all-in-one cleansing water that tones, brightens, and removes makeup and impurities in one step. Dermaclear Micro Water is made with 85 percent hydrogen mineral water. Hydrogen mineral water penetrates to remove all makeup and impurities while toning the skin, and is suitable for even the delicate eye area. Skin looks and feels purified, fresh, revived, and toned without tightness or dryness.

INGREDIENTS

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Phenoxyethanol, Decyl Glucoside, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PPG-26-Buteth-26, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Citrate, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Madecassoside, Rice Ferment Filtrate (Sake), Pearl Powder, Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Sodium Palmitoyl Proline, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract, Rosa Multiflora Fruit Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Caprylyl Glycol.

PACKAGING

The sleek plastic bottle that epitomizes the Dr.Jart+ pharmacy style comes in a plastic box with the protective inside layering.

The cap is also securely protected.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT

It’s totally unscented. It doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable when applying. There is no stripping or burning. The makeup removes easily with this stuff.

HOW DOES IT WORK

I take off all makeup with the Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water. I use it as a first step in cleansing my skin and it never let me down.

Dr.Jart+ works as well as the cleansing oil, but doesn’t leave an oily residue.

I use the lightweight MAC Face and Body Foundation every day, but I couldn’t help testing this cleanser with a thick BB cream and super long-wearing NYX lipstick.

The sales reps claim that the secret behind the awesome performance of the Dr.Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water is in their active hydrogen mineral water. I don’t know how it works, but this micellar water does really perform much better than all micellar water I’ve ever tried.

I purchased this product as an ordinary cleanser and didn’t expect any wow-effect.

I added it to my acid skin care. I just wanted it to clean my skin and remove makeup properly. However, this water does really contain very mild natural surfactants, which is good.

Mild natural surfactants change the skin protective system only for a while, whereas harsh ones can damage it as well as the skin texture itself, which triggers many skin problems.

Although the maker says that it can be used as a toner, I don’t use it this way.

There are some skin-caring ingredients present in the list, incl. pearl powder, royal jelly extract and madecassoside that is thought to restore the skin, but I just can’t fall asleep peacefully when I know that I still have the micelles on my skin.

I may probably be wrong.

What I particularly like about this product is that it is suitable for removing makeup from the eyes. I always try to minimize the place my makeup takes in a travel bag.

I made some swatches on my hand and now I’d like to show you how this cleanser works.

WHAT WE NEED TO REMOVE

  1. MAC Satin Lipstick (creamy)

  2. MAC Mattene Lipstick (dry and long-wearing formula)

  3. And the NYX Lingerie Lipstick that soaks into my skin and lasts forever.

Now I’d like to show you what happens with makeup after the Dr.Jart+ makeup remover:

It washes off everything with ease. Yes, it will definitely take more time to remove the total look, but the Dermaclear Micro Water makes the process quicker and more enjoyable.

Perfect!
Perfect!

BOTTOM LINE:

The Dr.Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water may probably become a new staple go to in my skincare regimen, because it cleanses way better than the other micellar waters I’ve tried, plus it has beneficial ingredients.

On the other hand, I remove this water and do not use it as a toner, so all skin caring ingredients do not linger more than 2 minutes on my skin anyway.

Moreover, I still don’t know if the brand is cruelty-free or not. If you know anything about it, please let me know. I appreciate it.

The only con I find so far is the price. It retails for about $32 for 250 ml. Other than that this cleanser is amazing.
