Recently I tried out the micellar water by the LA ROCHE-POSAY and decided that I definitely needed to try out some other products by the brand. So today I’ll review the Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser.
Recently they changed the design of the packaging, so be aware that there are two versions available: like mine and white opaque packaging with blue and black lettering on as well.
The product is oily and sensitive skin oriented, which is mine. My skin is terribly oily, problematic and over reactive to any skin care products that it doesn’t like. So I presume that it’s sensitive too.
Some information from the back of the tube:
Made in France
Expires within 12 months after opening. That’s exactly the right time I’m going to use this product up, as it’s very economical! I’ve been using it for a month and I haven’t used up even a tenth of it.
The tube was sealed with a transparent film to ensure safe opening.
The flip top cap has a hollow space for convenient opening. I open it with ease, never breaking my nails over it.
The dispenser is really weird. It’s the first time I saw anything of that kind. It’s too narrow and it becomes difficult to get the product out of it. Only when I press the tube hard I can get it out.
I understand that thanks to the dispenser the spending of the product is very low. The gel gives rich gentle suds so make sure to take out a pea sized drop.
The product is transparent, thick and a little bit scented. The scent is floral, pleasant and neutral by the way. The foam is thick and easy to rinse off with water. Don’t expect a squeaky feel after using this gel, you’ll never get it, as oily skin doesn’t need it. A squeaky clean face will produce more sebum which is absolutely undesired. When I wash my face I never use any sponges or nets. Most frequently I wash my face with my hands or use my facial cleansing brush from time to time. After washing, my skin is clean with no dryness or tightening feelings. There’s also an impression that my skin is moisturized and I don’t need to apply a cream.
What effect does the product provide me with? Well, don’t think that only this product will leave your skin absolutely clean and imperfections-free. No, you won’t get such a result even if you wash your face with this gel ten times a day. What can you expect from a product that is present on your skin for no more than minute? I never believe those who say that they healed their acne only with the help of a facial cleanser. The gel is aimed at proper cleaning of your skin and preparing it for the following product's application. And that’s all. And the LA ROCHE-POSAY EFFACLAR gel does this job brilliantly!
I paired this gel with Effaclar cream and to see the results only from this product I stopped doing any masks and used the micellar water by the brand instead of a toner.
When I bought the set with these products my skin was badly broken out. I had acne, reddening etc.
And this is how it looks now, a month after using the products by LA ROCHE POSAY. My skin stopped breaking out at all!
Of course that’s not only the gel working here but still cleaning is also a very important step. I do believe that no cream or mask will ever give you a positive result if you apply them on badly cleansed skin.
I believe that for one month use the result is outstanding and the photos prove it.
The price online is $14.99. Offline is about $24.
I highly recommend the EFFACLAR PURIFYING FOAMING GEL CLEANSER to all those suffering the problems of oily and sensitive skin. Together with a cream by the same brand they work wonders!
