For many years, I’ve been using cleansing oils and now I can’t imagine my skincare regimen without one. What’s the secret? Let me try to point out the main benefits of these face care products, taking the Missha Perfect BB Deep Cleansing Oil as an example.
This cleansing oil is supposed to complement the BB cream with the same name. The oil is available in two sizes. I own a miniature with 105 ml.
I decided to start off with a smaller bottle, since Korean skincare products aren’t that cheap.
My bottle lacks a dispenser. Instead, there is this little hole. I have to mention, though, that the oil is easy to measure out in drops and it doesn’t leak even if you turn the bottle upside down.

When ordering the oil, I didn’t pay enough attention to the fact that this product shouldn’t be used to remove eye makeup.
I learned that from my own experience, when I tried to remove my mascara with this, but failed and turned into a raccoon with a cloudy film in my eyes. Actually I think cleansing oils aren’t that great for the eyes. My regular skin cleansing ritual consists of the following steps: eye makeup remover - cleansing oil - face foam.
You may ask: Why use so many products when there are face washes that remove eye makeup too?
But the thing is, no face wash can remove silicones and polymers from your skin (and these are to be found both in makeup and skincare products). The skin may look clean, but this stuff accumulates deep in the pores, making the skin surface look dull and lifeless.
Cleansing oils are supposed to solve this problem. It’s known that oil dissolves oil, so such products not only remove the makeup, but also provide deep cleansing, which is really essential for oily skin.
The formula is oily and lightweight. I bet you don’t see it in the first photo, but it is there:
The cleansing oil must be applied onto dry skin and massaged into it for 4 minutes (according to 4-2-4 cleansing method). Then, add some water, and the oil will turn into a white emulsion which can be washed off with water. After that, use a face foam.
It all may seem excessive but after I’ve tried this method I’m sure I’ll never return to regular face washes again.
Missha Perfect BB Deep Cleansing Oil leaves my skin clean, soft and smooth. My pores look clean and narrow, which improves the whole look of the skin. Thanks to such cleansing, blackheads disappear forever, as well as clogged pores and pimples.
Also, I like its cosmetic-flowery smell which instantly improves my mood.
And a little experiment to show you how this cleansing oil removes some makeup products. In the first photo, you can see a highly pigmented lipstick, long lasting BB cream, eyeliner, mascara and eyebrow pomade:
Impressive, isn’t it?
When it’s washed off, I see that my skin is clean, fresh and not irritated. The oil couldn’t remove the mascara, but it was never promised.
All in all, I’m really happy with the Missha Perfect BB Deep Cleansing oil, as it’s long-lasting and nice to use.
