Greetings to those reading this review!
Lately, I’ve been replenishing my makeup removers collection with products from the famous brand NYX. Early in the year they’ve added 7 makeup removers to their range, and I own 3 of them already.
Today I’ll be writing about NYX Stripped Off Cleansing Balm.
At the end of the day, it always feels good to strip it off! Available in seven unique formulas, each one of our new Stripped Off Cleansers feature a refreshing scent and amazing feel. Stripped Off Cleansing Balm is a freshly scented cleanser that melts onto the skin. Formulated with green tea extract, grape seed oil and vitamin E.
Price: $14 (but I’ve got it for $9,8 )
Produced in South Korea
I often use BB Creams in my make up. Since it’s impossible to remove them without oil, I used to use Korean cleansing oils.
Then I switched to Pond’s Cold Cream. When it was used up, I wanted something new with the same effect. So the cleansing balm from NYX has become this new product for me.
The balm comes in a quite heavy (3.52 fl. oz) jar with protective seal.
The balm itself resembles petroleum and feels like it.
In contact with something warm (or rather with fingers) it starts melting, looking like cleansing oils.
The list of ingredients (for those who are interested in it):
How to use:Usually I scoop out a small amount of balm, warm it up in my hands and apply it onto my face. Then I massage all this mess into the skin for a about a minute and wash it off. The manufacturer recommends to use micellar water after the balm, but I don’t see any point in that. I don’t think leaving micellar water on the skin is somehow good for it.
That’s why I wash the balm off with a face foam. Or use I toner. Or apply nothing at all, since the balm leaves no oily film on my face. It makes my skin soft and silky.
Personally I use the balm not only to remove foundation and stuff like that from my skin, but also as an eye makeup remover. The balm doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. If it gets into the eyes, it’ll feel like a cloudy film, but not for long.
And now, traditionally, I’ll show the product in use:
I randomly choose a few products from my makeup bag
Apply them on my hand, let the colors soak in, scoop out a bit of the balm
Then I massage it, make a mess, add some water. As you can see, the balm turns into a white milk, the same what happens with cleansing oils.
I wash it off with water. And voila! The skin is clean.
Even the Nouba pigment is gone, which usually leaves stains on the skin.
As we can see, the result is great. What else do we need from a cleanser?
The bottom line is that NYX Stripped off Balm is a convenient substitute for cleansing oil, only in solid form. It smells nice and doesn’t dry out the skin or irritate the eyes. It’s doing a great job. Doesn’t clog pores. Produced in Korea, like all these beloved cleansing oils.
I definitely recommend it and give it 5 stars!
