=================•••INGREDIENTS•••=========================
Purified water, aloe barbadensis leaf juice (certified organic filet of aloe vera), glycerin (vegetable), fragrance (natural rose), hamamelis virginiaia extract (made from certified organic witch hazel), rosa centifolia (rose) flower water, citric acid, citrus grandis (grapefruit) seed extract.
================•••MY SKIN•••=======================
I have normal skin with occasional breakouts that appear before my period.
- Quite narrow pores.
- Blackheads (mine are gray, however).
- Allergy-prone skin.
====================•••PACKAGING•••==========================
The product comes in a big transparent bottle. I like the design. Each bottle has its own color. The toner with Rose Water is fairly girly. The writing and pictures here look vintage.
==================•••APPEARANCE•••=====================
It looks like an ordinary clear water, but if you shake it, the bubbles arise and don’t go away for quite some time. From the first moment, I feel briar berries or rose, which is good. When I apply the toner to my face, the smell transforms to the fragrance of my grandma. The smell lingers for 30 mins on my skin and I would say, that it doesn’t bother me at all.
=====================•••USE•EFFECT•••=========================
My skin reacts differently to all 3 toners from one and the same manufacturer. Let’s talk about the Rose Petal first. When I try different facial treatments like peeling, cleansing masks with essential oils and so on, toners are not for me. So all these promises of moisture and comfort don’t work with my skin, because it is red for about 30 mins, but then the redness goes down.
It’s noteworthy that my favorite Hydrolat d'Hamamélis BIO has never made my face feel so horrible!
There is no redness when I use a toner after I’ve cleansed my face, by the way. I can’t speak about its moisturizing properties, but the feel is comfortable without any cream. Well, it doesn’t perform well as a toner for me personally. I want a toner that is super gentle, versatile and suitable for problem and sensitive skin also. In the photo you can see my second bottle of the toner. You probably wonder why I have it. When I’d used up the half of the bottle, I decided to add the product into my clay mask and I loved the result! I use a small amount of this toner in every mask mixture now. It’s a funny thing, but my skin doesn’t get red then. Beneficial ingredients of the toner make my masks even more beneficial.
The hydrolates you see in the picture are my perfect toners. They rescue my skin every time and everywhere.
======================•••OTHER NOTES•••==========================
Comparison with the green and purple versions.
The toners look alike with their transparent water. The Lavender Witch Hazel doesn’t smell like lavender, but the scent is quite nice. The Original Witch Hazel has a disgusting smell of a cheap cologne.
The best one here is the Lavender Witch Hazel and give it 5 stars, BUT it’s a pass in comparison with the lavender hydrolate. The Rose Petal is an average toner, as it performs differently all the time. The Original Witch Hazel is offensive and suitable only for thick skin, so I gave it to my husband.They all are not sticky.
CONCLUSION: The hydrolates are the best of the bunch. As for the toners, I think that the Lavender and Rose Petal are worth trying actually. The products are extremely economical. You can use a bottle for about 3 months.
Price: ca. $6
=====================•••MY OVERALL THOUGHTS•••==================================
I give 4 stars to all three of them and plan on purchasing hydrolates and probably the Rose Petal for facial masks. I would recommend them to a friend though, because they suit many skin types as far as I understand.
