L'Oreal Excellence Creme Hair Color - review

I bet many of you have had a sudden desire to change something about yourself, and very often, it’s hair color. After many years of experiments I’ve come to the conclusion that warm colors with reddish undertone suit me best of all. Recently I had a sudden change of heart and decided to get rid of my reddish hair color, and use L’oreal Excellence for it.

I fell in love with the color. Of course I didn’t hope to achieve the result on the packaging with my rather dark hair, and my main goal was to neutralize the red undertone.

The kit includes: the pre-color treatment, cream developer, hair color itself, hair balm, comb applicator (which I found useless) and of course the instructions.

First of all, I applied the pre-color treatment onto my length and let it sit for 5 minutes.

 

Then, I mixed the cream developer and the color itself and started to apply it, from roots and then spreading it on my length. Such an amount was more than enough for my length.

I haven’t dyed my hair with ammonia hair dyes for a long time, and the stink filled my bathroom, even though I opened the windows.

 

It was recommended to left it for 3 minutes, which I did.

I washed it off without a shampoo and used only the hair balm. By the way, that little bottle lasted for a few uses.

I froze when I saw how many hair I’d lost at once. Maybe it’s an unpleasant photo but I have to publish it

And that’s after the very first wash!

The reddish undertone was gone, but - what a bummer - the grey hair was still visible in the sun.

Honestly, I’m not satisfied with the result this dye gave. I think it’s a bit greenish, but it’s entirely my fault, I should have used a hair color remover prior to his dye.Why so few stars?

First of all, this hair color dried my hair out, and the pre-color treatment turned out completely useless on my damaged hair.

My hair was brittle and fragile, not glossy or silkyThe smell is so sharp that it only disappeared after the second hair wash.

There are cheaper hair dyes with the same quality.

In terms of longevity, this hair dye is mediocre. Let me show you a few photos comparing my hair color before coloring and after 10 days:

The color has faded in the roots area, and the reddish undertone is visible again, especially in the sun. The hair seems to be brown on the roots, and dark brown on the tips.Guys, it was a bitter disappointment.
