Hello, dear friends!
Sponges, brushes and other beauty accessories are living in our beauty bags now. And there are so many of them, an endless amount! A few years ago, on the market appeared a sponge which promised to apply evenly any texture: liquid, as well as dry! I’m talking about the pink (white, black, red, beige, purple and green) egg - The Beautyblender.
And, still, there are thousands of makeup brands which try to copy its shape and material.
My today’s review is of one its analogues - the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Let’s compare the two sponges, and find out, which one’s better and why.
Material
Neither RT nor BB contain any latex. Tactile, they’re a bit different: RT is softer and less elastic than BB, but still it comes to its normal shape very quickly, as the BB.
If you look at the material very close (macro) you can see, that the pores in RT one are slightly bigger than in the BB.
Ergonomic Form
RT - precision tip
Flat edge
BB - even more precised tip, round bottom.
I keep them in a glass with pencils:)
Application and coverage:
I can’t find any difference. Absolutely! These two apply my foundation product absolutely in the same way. The coverage looks the same. The sinking of the foundation in is also the same, and it’s, by the way, not very big. I took some photos, on which you can’t tell any difference between the products.
Deterioration:
I don't use these eggs very often in my makeup, as I like to apply foundation with my fingertips more. But when it comes to the commercial makeup (I’m a makeup artist), such sponge is really useful. At work I use the RT one and my clients and I are pretty delighted with the result!
So, in conclusion, I want to say that I love the RT sponge more. If there’s no difference in the coverage, why should I pay more then?
You can buy it at any drugstore or online.
I definitely recommend it! Thanks for reading!
