I’ve been dreaming about this foundation for so long, but it didn’t live up to my expectations, which often happens.
A year ago Becca was introduced to me by my makeup artist. I’d never heard about this brand at the time, because I was no makeup junkie.
However, the idea of purchasing grew in my head.
Once, when I was walking through the mall, I saw a Becca corner at the cosmetic shop. I started looking at their items, but my fascination faded as I saw the prices. Yep, they were very high.
In the end, I ordered the Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation online.

Now to the characteristics of the foundation:
It’s housed in a heavy bottle made of frosted glass, which, in turn, is packaged in a sleek solid cardboard box. It protects the bottle from any damages like armor. When you see the packaging you know what you’ve paid for.
The design of the bottle itself is quite simple, with the name of the foundation on it. On the bottom, you can find the shade and volume.
I was pretty surprised with the cap, as I’d never had any similar tool before.
In order to open the tube you have to screw the cap till it clicks. Afterwards, press the button on the cap. Then you can open the bottle. It’s quite an unusual system.
The foundation can be measured out with this glass dropper.
Color:
I chose ‘Fair’, which is the second shade in the line. There are 9 colors available in total from porcelain to deep bronze. I have fair complexion and redness on my face, but nevertheless I was afraid to order the lightest shade.
After a while I realized that I should have chosen the lightest color, because it would match my skintone better.
Take a look:
It may seem at first that the shade is way too dark, but when it’s blended, it adapts to my skin, leaving a warm undertone.
Formula: liquid-y, incredibly lightweight and velvety. It glides on smoothly, and doesn’t melt off.
Volume: 30ml.
Price: $53
Now to the practical side of the matter.
I’m deeply convinced that you shouldn’t cut corners on makeup. Actually that’s why I bought this foundation. I thought it would guarantee the change in my face. I was sure I would get addicted to this makeup. But luckily, it didn’t happen.
So, what’s wrong with this foundation?
As I’ve mentioned above, I have fair complexion and redness on my face. Plus, my skin is combination, with enlarged pores. So I was looking for a lightweight foundation which would cover all my imperfections.Becca promised all this. Besides, there are hyaluron acid in the ingredients, and the foundation is paraben-free.
I apply the foundation according to the recommendations: I shake the bottle and blend the foundation with my hands. I remember how scared I was the first time I applied the foundation onto the jaw line, because it looked too dark. For a second, I thought I’d bought the wrong shade.
But after a while, the foundation adapted to my skin tone and became barely visible.
I saw that the foundation didn’t cover any redness. Yes, you can apply a few layers, but that’s hardly an option for the summer. Plus, I didn’t like that the foundation made flaking spots stand out, even though I always applied a moisturizing fluid.
So these two facts make me take off a few stars.
The final look with the foundation:
Does it change throughout the day?
The foundation has great durability. It doesn’t smudge or melt off, and it can last the whole day. However, I can’t go without touch ups, because my T-Zone starts shining in the afternoon.
So, what’s my general opinion?
Even though I don’t like a few things about this foundation, I’m still glad that I purchased it. I love its lightweight formula, I love that it adapts to my skin tone and I love its high-end packaging. But at the same time, it emphasizes flaking and provides poor coverage. You can try to apply it in a few layers, but it’s not acceptable for summer.
You can create an even skin tone even without a $50 foundation. That’s why I don’t recommend this foundation to makeup newbies. Don’t waste your money, the product isn’t worth it. Maybe makeup artists know a few secrets about it, though
