Pros: beautiful shades, high-end quality for an affordable price

Hello girls!

In these latter days, I buy more and more matte lipsticks for me. But sometimes it’s so worth it to treat myself with a matte formula, especially during the winter.

During the Black Friday sales, I decided to order some creamy lipsticks from the Crème Lux Lipstick collection from ColourPop. I was blown away when I saw their shades:

PRODUCT INFO:

Price: $7

Size: 3.5g

Made in U.S

INGREDIENTS:Octyldodecanol, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Polyethylene, Hydrated Silica, Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Tocopherol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Butter, Punica Granatum Seed Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Pulp Powder, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77499), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).

OUTER APPEARANCE:

The lipsticks were housed in boxes of different colors, which, I think divide the collection into nudes (white package) and bolder shades (brown box):

The design is awesome! It’s obvious that the glossy casing will catch all the fingerprints but it isn’t a problem for me at all.

I was surprised to discover the metal casing of the lipsticks. Placing the order I was sure to meet the cheap plastic tube, which would flake off within a few days. But in reality I received good quality and pleasant to look at products. I’m head over heels with those little stars all over the package. Smile

SHADES:

I wanted to get two nude and two bolder shades of brown color.

Looking through the pictures on the website, I stopped on these:

  • Tip Toe:

is a perfect nude shade, which is a must-have for day wear makeup. It doesn’t look white-based in the swatches but in my makeup it makes my lips appear fairer than they actually are. This factor makes it apt only for the nude makeup. As for the shade itself, it’s more coffee-like with some peachy notes as well:

On my lips:

This is how it looks with my full-on makeup. I know it doesn’t suit here. But when I wear nude makeup, it looks good.

  • PINKIES UP:

This one is also a fantastic ash pink rose shade, with some coffee notes as well. And as it seems to me, there’s a hint of plum color as well.

It flatters any makeup, daytime as well as evening looks. This is that very color, which is a nice throw-in-a-bag option, that flatters any makeup.

On my lips:

With my makeup on:

  • BRICK:

This color is a mixture of a muted vinous shade with a hint of brown pigment. It’s interesting, complicated and very deep-toned.

On my lips:

By the way, if you blot the coverage with a tissue, then you’ll take off the upper glossy layer, leaving this beautiful matte coverage behind. You know, just for a change. Smile And it works with all the shades from the collection, actually:

My makeup:

  • CINNAMON

This is the most questionable shade that I bought. :)Olive-based brown shade, that makes it almost khaki.

This babe requires skills and it won’t flatter everyone. For instance, my sister has olive-toned skin and this shade opens up green over her. By the way, the camera doesn’t show all the olive undertone here:

TEXTURE:

Crème Lux Lipstick from ColourPop offers one of the most comfortable to wear formulas that I’ve ever seen in my life. The lipsticks are super pigmented, they don’t require packing and they apply well with a single stroke.

The stick literally glides over my lips during application, smoothing out all the flaking bits and patches. The formula always applies perfectly well even over my non-perfect lips.

The ingredients list is full of nurturing oils, which provide us with a glossy finish.

STAYING POWER:

It’s decent for such formula. It stays on for 4 hours and doesn’t fade. It vanishes gradually from my inner lip, yet still, the pigments stay on.

After a bite, I eat up only the glossy finish but the color stays there. This makes my lips neat, so advantageous.

The products are super comfortable to wear. They don’t feel heavy, well, I don’t even feel them at all. Only comforting sensation, as though I applied a lip balm.

THE GOOD:

  • design and good quality packaging

  • one of the best formulas ever

  • no presence feel

  • moisture

  • good application even over my chapped lips

  • enormous color selection

  • highly packed with pigments

  • the color is thick and saturated

I have nothing negative to say about them.

I can only highly recommend them for purchasing. Lux quality for an affordable price. If I never knew their price, I’d definitely think that these are from a high-end brand.

And don’t be afraid to choose the shades on the official site, the colors are true to life there.

Thanks a million for your attention to my post!
