Recently the ColourPop brand started to impress its fans with new launches which happen almost everyday! Eyeshadow palettes, concealers, blush and of course liquid eyeshadows. The Supernova Shadow line by ColourPop is usually called the “space in a tube” and beauty bloggers even mention that it’s a cheaper dupe for the famous Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow liquid eyeshadow. I wanted to add some festive and glowy notes to my eye makeup and opted for the Supernova Shadow in the color MOON LIT.

There are 13 shades in the collection. There you’ll find gentle and nude colors as well as bright and bold ones too.

The packaging is simple and convenient. It’s a regular tube with the application sponge.

Price: $7

Moon lit is a gorgeous pink-lilac-fuchsia shimmer shade. I was hooked on it because of its unusual shade and original content.

My impressions of use:

  • ColourPop states that the product can be used as a base, alone, or as a topper. But I guess you can see that the coverage looks a little bit patchy so it definitely requires a base coat.

  • The product doesn’t dry down at once. After application you need to close your eyes and wait for about a minute for the product to dry down completely, otherwise it’ll crease.

  • The wear time is fantastic. I’m very pleased with the fact that this shadow survives the entire working day and even a meeting with friends afterwards.

  • You can vary the intensity of color and apply it as light smokey eyes and layer to a thick metallic sheen.

  • But be careful with a very thick layer as the product may not dry down at all.

  • Supernova Shadow isn’t easy to blend. If you want to make the edges of application smokey then you’d better use a synthetic brush of average pack and work very quickly. Use a light hand and only after that come to the accent color.

  • Supernova Shadow in the color MOON LIT looks festive and bright. Of course it’ll be impossible to wear it for work everyday. But if you don’t have any strict dress-code rules, why not then? Smile Or if you do you can always opt for a more nude-like and calm shade from the line.

Here you can see how difficult the product is to blend it out.

All in all the shadow is good even though it has its peculiarities and frills. But in general the new launch is cool!

Thanks for reading my review! Smile
